Miley Cyrus is furious that her country singin' daddy, Billy Ray, sat down with GQ to bash the Disney show that made them mega-rich, as well as for his comments saying he's "scared" for his daughter's well-being. Now, I'm hearing that the 'Hannah Montana' star has signaled that she wants him to clam up and stop acting like another infamous stage dad."To say Miley is angry is an understatement," a friend of the Disney star tells me. "She's furious that her own flesh and blood would make a private matter so public. Who does he think he is, Michael Lohan?"

Maybe Miley should remember that without her Dad's fame she would more than likely never have been in a position to be considered for Hanna Montana. It was his millions that got her her start!

Miley isn't doing anything other child actresses did. She is trying to drop the tween Hannah Montana persona. Alyssa Milano, Emma Watson, and scores of others before them did the same. If the movie industry & her fans still see her as a little girl her career will be over. You have to go a little wild when you are young, when else can you? I would not have liked it if my parents talked to relatives or their friends about me when I was a teen. I can't imagine how it would feel if it was in the press. Yikes!
Give her a break. Its part of growing up!

ever heard, PR. All this tabloid crap is well thought out publicity stunt. Think that Dad does not know what he is doing and do stars not realize when cameras or cell phones are taking pictures. With liability laws, nothing gets printed without stars permission. It's all entertainment. Be entertained.

Billy loves the spot light on him, thats why he is airing their dirty laundry in public. And only now, he is worried about his daughter. Is he worried that because Miley is 18, she can move out or away, from fame seeking dad.
Billy is a washed up singer, that loves being seen and heard.
No one wants to see or hear from the man, so this is the only way he can be heard, by talking about his daughter. Billy has been living through his daughter all of these years, due to a lack of talent of his own.
Its sad that anyone has to live off of their kids. Billy should get a job, that has nothing to do with Miley. He might just earn some respect from people for a change. I really wish he would get a hair cut, and shave that thing on his chin.

All I can say is everyone is to blame. Miley blames her dad, dad blames Miley, moma Tish, and Disney. I blame them all. Dad should have been a better parent and rained in Miley long ago. Tish should be a better momager. She never punishes Miley. Miley should grow up and look at all the fans she is distancing by acting this way. Any yes I think Disney is to blame also. Something is seriously wrong with Disney. Look at all their child stars who have ended up on this road. Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, the girl who played Lizzie McQuire (my mind just went blank, can't remember her name) and how about Demi Lovoto ending up in rehab? If you ask me something is wrong with Disney. Why do all their promising young stars end up like this? Just something to think about.

Ummm.. what did Hilary Duff do that was wrong other then a few bad movies? There are a lot more Disney kids that turn out good then bad. Over the years they have had hundreds and you point out 4 and one of those 4 turned out to be a decent person that was only in the headlines because she got married. So maybe it's not Disney's fault but the parents of those children. Justin Timberlake was on Disney the same time as Britney, did he turn out bad? How about Ashley Tisdale? She was on Disney the same time as Miley? You ever stop to think that there are a lot more disney kids out there but you don't hear about them because a story about a kid sitting at home with her mom is a lot more boring then a kid who goes out drinking?
Although I do agree with much of what you said, Billy should have indeed REIGNED in his daughter a long time ago. However, Hilary Duff has done nothing. She has been a pretty good role model for young girls during her Disney reign. Ashley Tisdale is a good role model, too. There are many Disney tweens/teens who have grown-up without issues. The main difference is they probably have more stable parents and family life. They were told "no" and not treated like God's gift to the world. There education was just as important as they acting. Screwd-up parents raise screwed-up kids, most of the time.

Neither one of you is right. "RAIN" is the wet stuff that falls from the sky. "REIGN" is the time or era when royalty is in power, the REIGN of Queen Victoria. Billy Ray should have REINED in Miley like you REIN in a horse that is running off, using the leather REINS of the horse harness.
And for the record - Disney hired Miley because they knew her father's name would bring publicity and viewers. Billy Ray earned the money he made working everyday on Hannah Montana. Billy Ray doesn't like Hollywood and has gone back to his roots in Nashville. Mama Tish is listed as a "producer" on every movie Miley is in. Why is that? Because she has no much experience in the Film Business? SHE DELIVERS MILEY and she gets a producer credit AND percentage of the box office. Do the Math people. Even if you can't spell maybe you can add well enough to see where the dollar signs are.

And the article says that Billy Ray shouldn't bite the hand that feeds him..What the F?? whether anyone cares to remember it was Billy RAY that got Miley the Whole Hannah Montana thing. He was the star or ex star whatever, and She was contacted because her dad is Billy Ray. She needs to quit biting the hand that helped get her where she is today.

I think it's too bad that anybody is making Biily Ray out to be the bad guy here. He sounds genuinley concerned for his daughter and is not behaving like some other parents of famous kids who want to pretend that everything is wonderful. If he's speaking out,it's because he realizes there's a serious problem that needs to be brought out into the open - not swept under the rug. Good for him!

Well you can't blame Disney when he and his wife/ ex wife whatever allowed Miley at 16 to date a 22 or 23 y/o guy. Maybe lack of judgement or setting rules could have had something to do with it? Too late to undo the damage now. This is what happens when you let your children do what they want instead to following rules and learning how to be responsible and accountable.
I agree that Mylie has been acting more and more trashy and really needs to grow up, but I disagree that her "daddy" knows best. He got her into the business, she doesn't have the talent to get there on her own. I've thought for years that she is one of the mover overrated "stars" out there. Can't stand to watch anything she does. If she doesn't straighten up soon, she will end up just like Lindsay Lohan.

I have never accused Billy Ray Cyrus of having a lot of sense. He has never expressed gratitude for his good fortune. The best I recall, he came to Nashville in an old bread truck.(We lived there at the time.) Miley has never known anything but wealth and fame. That's why I never buy lottery tickets. Wealth is NOT the only thing. It has corrupted the relationship between father and daughter. I would not trade my relationship with my very adult son for all the cows in Texas. And there are a lot of cows in Texas.

Well I've worked with both of them on "Hannah Montana" and on her first movie and all I can say was Miley was already acting like and out of control prima donna way back then and her father was as sweet and humble as can be. He introduced himself and shook our hands and seemed very genuine. You very rarely meet a star that will do that to a lowly Extra.
I'm siding with Billy Ray. Disney's star making machine has ruined many families. I think the only one who came through unscathed was Anette Funicello.

You're 18 Miley, legally an adult. Time to start acting like one and suck it up. Time to sober up, take your career seriously, and respect your father; he loves you. I don't care who you are or who else has a say, you strip away everything surrounding you and he is still your dad. Some people don't have the gift of their parents; I lost my dad at 10 and what I wouldn't give to have the 8 extra years you've had with yours.
