Is Sarah Jessica Parker Planning a Third 'Sex and the City' Movie?

Could there really be a third 'Sex and the City' movie? There might be if
Sarah Jessica Parker has anything to do with it. The franchise's leading lady tells the
Los Angeles Times' 24 Frames blog that she'd absolutely sign up for another 'SATC' film.
"I would go back," Parker revealed. "I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is." The actress, who also executive produced the first two 'SATC' movies, thinks there is still life in the story of four best friends living in New York City. But it might have to wait a few years.
"I'd definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael [Patrick King, the director] would do it right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?" she said.
The actress explained why she'd prefer to wait: "It's not that I want to get away from [SATC]. In a million years, who could get away from it?" Parker said. "If I'm not scared again that's not good for me. That's literally no good for me. If I'm not terrified and nauseous and worried the first two weeks of production, then what's going to happen?"
Finally, Parker addressed rumors that a third 'SATC' movie would actually be a prequel based on Candace Bushnell's upcoming book 'Summer and the City' -- starring
Blake Lively or
Miley Cyrus as a young Carrie Bradshaw.
"I was like, 'Wha-a-a-a-t?'" she said. "I don't think we can pretend to go back. It's creating two histories. It's like, 'Oh I didn't know that about Carrie Bradshaw.'"
Parker is currently filming her next comedy, 'I Don't Know How She Does It,' in New York City.

I didn't think it was possible to dislike the character Carrie in Sex in the City. The last movie made me do it. I actually hated Carrie. I wanted Big to dump her. The clothes were ridiculous. The story was horrible. It was a waste of time and money. If they can't do any better then don't do another one. I will just enjoy the old episodes from television.

Couldn't agree more. They really dropped the ball on the second film. So many things didn't make sense like Aidan kissing Carrie. I would only support a third if they actually based it on how hilarious the episodes were instead of unrealistic garbage.
I agree. Carrie is a likeable character and so are, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. The series was a hit and so was the firts movie, only because we needed some closure for the series, but SATC2 was just adding extra fluff and drama that was not needed and I don't see how making a SATC3 would be anything more than that extra fluff, with expensive outlandish outfits that most of us would not be caught dead in. Sarah, it was a great franchise, but I think it is time to bowout gracefully. Final note...WE DO NOT WANT a prequel either!!! This franchise is for women not girls!!! Let them have their own movie.
Sorry I meant Sex and the City. My stupid mistake.

Like Bette Davis and Elizabeth Taylor, Parker doesn't know when to say when. The first movie was silly. The second insipid. The third would be tragic. Enough, SJP. Nobody's interested in four has-beens whose best days are a decade behind them. Not in the movies, not in real life.

I definitely have to agree with Esmerelda. I was so disappointed that I had wasted my money and so was my daughter who is a huge Sex and the City fan.
