Is New Mom Celine Dion Ready to Return to the Stage?
Celine Dion will return to the Las Vegas stage on March 15 and begin a $100 million, three-year contract at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. But how will she balance the performances with raising her 4-month old twins, Nelson and Eddy, and older son Rene-Charles, 10?
The world famous soprano has said she plans to give her all to raising her twins. But now Dion will have to share that task with the rigors of performing 70 shows a year until 2014. "Celine has a close family and dedicated staff of helpers, so she will be able to manage both," a music source tells
PopEater. "She loves the family yet bursts to perform. She will just be tired some days. But she can do it."
Accustomed to being busy, the 42-year-old singer, who lives on Jupiter Island, Fla., near Tiger Woods, just left her $12.5 million mansion -- complete with two Olympic-sized pools, a water slide and winding river -- to begin rehearsing in Las Vegas for her show, which has already sold out March and most of April.
Since the birth of her twins in south Florida last October, Dion has been getting little sleep but a lot of fulfillment. She told Larry King recently that life with the twins has been a "great challenge, full of surprises and overwhelming in a good way."
In an interview with French GALA magazine, she said that one moment she feels tremendous happiness but the next, fatigue sets in, and she cries for no reason.
"Some of the first days after I came home, I was a little outside myself," she told the magazine. "I had no appetite and that bothered me."
Dion, who had difficulty conceiving the twins, is so happy being a mom again that she enjoys changing diapers and breastfeeding. While the first few months have been tiring, every day with the twins offers her and husband-manager Rene Angelil great joy.
Even humor. When both Nelson and Eddy are feeding, one has gas while the other is burping. She joked to GALA, "I don't know which position to adopt!"
To prep for her new show, which she will preview for fans during the Academy Awards on Feb. 27, Dion has been eating well and rehearsing with her team. Singing in front of a 31-musician orchestra, which has been a lifelong dream, the show will include her biggest hits and also songs from classic Hollywood movies. All of this will, of course, be presented with the awesome visuals fans have come to expect from the diva.
"She won't have the burden of touring travel and will be able to see the kids before and after every performance," the source says. "It should all balance out, and she will be fine."
After five years of sold-out Las Vegas shows on her last contract, followed by a five-continent, 25-country tour, three years on a new Las Vegas stage that was made especially for her seems quite tame. But she will make it work because she is so excited about performing.
"She is very happy about going back to work," the source says. "Fans will get that when they hear her sing."

Is it not nice that her children will be raised by nannys. So much for being a hands on parent.

I like Celine very much and believe she is a good mother, but please, anyone who thinks she does not have a huge staff to do the tasks that most working mother's have to do after they have done their "first" job each day is just living in fantasyland. I've worked for two very affluent people in my life and yes, they had families but they also had someone to cook, clean, maintain the landscaping, run errands, blah, blah, blah so they, like Celine, were hardly typical working mothers!

Please... Celine has been one of the hardest working women in the business. Don't begrudge her the perks of her success just because others don't have them.
THIS IS WHY THIS COUNTRY IS GOING TO HELL....MONEY-#1....CHILDREN-#2!

so are you saying she shouldnt work just because she has children? so you probalbly believe that mothers should stay at home, never work, just live off the government and go on wic and food stamps. You can balance work and children and still be a good mother.
For 100 million dollars I bet she is glad to get back to work. She will do just fine with her hubby and staff. She is very talented, a superstar, I would like to see her perform. God Bless her and family, she will be ok.

Might want to take a little water next time with that biatch pill. For a 100 mil I'd go back to work too- it's just 70 shows a year- she's a singer, she'll leave the kids with the staff at night and go sing. I went back to work at night when my kids were this age- put them to sleep at my sisters, work night shift, pick them up, they never missed me.
More than one way to get around this...

she underwent fertility treatment, she carried the children for nine months gave birth which ain't no joke and breast feeds. she will surely give close attention to her children. she's a fortunate woman. stop all the hate. besides children do leave the nest to live thier own lives someday. why shouldn't she have it all this is america. if Ricky M could do it why not her

Yreca,
If you had 100 million in your pocket, your sister wouldn't be your daughter's mother.

Are you kidding me? For 100 million she can hire as many nannys she needs. How is she gonna juggle this? Reallly? What a dumb question.
