While the groom's first cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenia, will be VIP guests at Prince William and Kate Middleton's April 29 nuptials, their mother -- the Duchess of York -- won't be included in any royal wedding festivities. Why the snub? Sarah Ferguson, 51, was married for a decade to Prince Andrew (Prince William's paternal uncle) until her tabloid-mocked infidelities led to divorce in 1996; the exes quietly went on to raise their daughters as single parents. Last year, a mortifying undercover sting caught Sarah soliciting bribe money to "open doors" to her influential ex. The shamed royal will soon attempt image rehab with a new reality series, 'Finding Sarah,' on Oprah Winfrey's OWN channel.
But with 1,900 royal invitations being dispatched around the world for what could be the most expensive wedding ever, is the duchess appalled at being left out? According to People.com, her rep confirms that Ferguson plans to be overseas in late April, and calls the snub no surprise: "She will not be attending. She never expected to be invited."

I don't blame them for not inviting her. She is no longer part of that family.
She REALLY shamed herself and should not be there.
She needs to GROW UP!

If they had sent her an invitation, she would have sold it on E-Bay
She IS the mother of two princesses and should have been invited to this wedding!
Sarah=black sheep!

yes she made mistakes but she was a friend to Diana for a long time.still that stupid spat over shoes.while Prince Charles wife was the main cause of Diana,s troubles.Diana wanted to call off the wedding the day before it because she found a gift from Camilla, but they wouldn't let her.I still think Diana's death was suspicious
@Shirley...yes they were friends, and caused plenty of trouble. (which was all blamed on Sarah.)
Diana wasn't forced to marry Charles. Why ppl. like yourself want to believe this is beyond me.
Diana wanted the status of being Charles wife...then proceeded to upstage him.
Point being...not all Charles fault! Diana was very spoiled, and it was her way, or else. ( why else would she go on national TV, to tell all; Well, not all, being as she didn't give any of her own faults. She wanted sympathy, and got it. ) She had plenty of affairs herself.
As for Sarah not being invited...if I were her children; would refuse to attend.
If I were her I wouldn't care if I wasn't invited. She left that family long ago. Her daughters should be invited because they are related to William. However, she isn't required to be there, just because she's their mother. Though, because she was a family member for a long time, I find it rather tacky that she wasn't invited. This way she could always "respectably" decline.

you mean 'respectfully'

Why?? If my daughter was invited to her cousin's wedding, I wouldn't expect an invite if I was no longer a part of that family.
Really? Do you believe that the ex-spouse should be invited because her adult children will be at the wedding just because it's a royal wedding? OR is this something you think should be done as a matter of everyday etiquitte? As a matter of respect to the family member, I don't think that former spouses should be invited unless an unusually close relationship exists between one of the individuals getting married and the ex. I think the adult cousins can manage a wedding affair without their mother being present. As the ex-wife of the uncle to the groom, Fergie has no place at the wedding. I wouldn't have invited the ex-wife of my husband's uncle to our wedding. Really - can you say you would invite the ex-wife of your partner's uncle to a wedding of yours?
They always treated her like something on the bottom of their shoes, so I don't blame her for not wanting to be a part of that wacky family's *anything*. Diana always liked her, because she was as down to Earth as she was. Sarah doesn't put on snooty airs, and IMO, she and Diana were a breath of fresh air. I'm sure that Diana would have wanted her there, were she still with us. Piss on them all.

Diana and Sarah were no longer friends when Diana died. They had a very bad falling out and were no longer speaking.
Didn't I just read that William insisted on his aunt being invited because of her relationship with his mother. What changed since that story. She is still the mother of his cousins and should be invited for their sake. I'm sure they will be hurt with their mother being treated like a low life.

Get it right AOL- ABC NEWS Stated that Fergie turned down invite-She wanted to make sure it was William and Kate's Day but her Ex Prince Andrew is upset that she won't be attending as his personal guest-Period!
Fergie was trying to RESPECT the Royal Family-Her Daughters are attending with their Dad Prince Andrew
