Best Pick to Play Lady Gaga On Screen? Gaga Says: Marisa Tomei

While Lady Gaga has been promoting her single 'Born This Way,' many have been fixated on similarities between her new track and Madonna's classic sound.

Gaga has since insisted that she's fine with Madonna comparisons (don't forget, the two already did an 'SNL' sendup of their alleged rivalry ages ago).

Nevertheless, she's been giving random shout-outs to other celebs she'd like to be linked to -- thanking Whitney Houston in an acceptance speech at the Grammys, for instance, a move some cynics felt was contrived to deflect attention from all the Madonna-copycat chatter.

Now Lady Gaga has movies on her mind, and this week, according to PopWrap, the singing sensation dropped some more famous names when discussing which film stars would be great as Gaga.

Asked on Sirius XM radio who should play her, if Hollywood ever decided to make a movie of her life, the native New Yorker told 'Morning Mash Up!' listeners, "I've always been a big fan of Rosario Dawson..."

Then the pop star revealed her true top choice. Take note, casting directors!

"Oh, you know what, I would have Marisa Tomei play me," she said. "I am such a Marisa Tomei fan. All my friends call me Marisa when I get angry. Because my New York accent just flies out of my body, and I start smacking my gum."

Leave it to Gaga to think outside the box. Tomei, at 46, looks as fabulous as ever, but would have her work cut out for her portraying the life of the Lady Gaga, 24. Before the international fame, Gaga took low-rent gigs as a teen, and performed her music on bare-bones stages during college. But there is common ground: In their careers, both women are full of suprises, and very fashion-forward in their own way. And, after all, when it comes to Gaga's artistic vision, anything can happen!
