A trip back to 'Oz' just got interesting. According to sources, Mila Kunis is reportedly eying a leading role opposite James Franco in a prequel to 'The Wizard of Oz.'According to Vulture, Kunis has turned down the lead role in Warner Bros.' 'Akira' in favor of director Sam Raimi's 'Oz, The Great and Powerful.' She is apparently interested in the role of Theodorah, who eventually becomes the infamous Wicked Witch of the West. You know, the one of "I'll get you my pretty...a your little dog too" fame.
The script, written by 'Rabbit Hole' scribe David Lindsay-Abaire, takes place long before Dorothy & Co., and follows the story of how the Wizard came to Oz and rose to power, as well as the back stories of the various witches that inhabit the fantastical land, including Theodorah and Glenda, the Good Witch of the North.

Isnt this story already a bestselling book and a hit on Broadway called Wicked????? Not very original......

My thoughts exactly!!
The book and broadway show tell the stories of the Witches, not of the Wizard. Similar, but diffrent
Oh Great Wizard.......... Mila gives me a boner!

I wonder if it has dawned on anybody that there was no "Oz" in the original movie. It was shown to obviously be a dream Dorothy had.

That was the movie version. In the books, the Oz adventures really happened and weren't just dreams. And if I remember correctly, Glenda was the Good Witch of the South in the book. Dorothy and Co. went to see her when the Wizard's attempts failed.
I wish PopEater would GIVE US A BREAK with the James Franco & Justin Bieber stories already!

It's GLINDA, not GLENDA! Glinda is the Good Witch of the South in the "Oz" books, the Good Witch of the North in the 1939 movie, and Glenda Jackson is a British actress. Get your story straightk, reporter, before you publish!
