Miley Cyrus Forced Billy Ray to Cancel 'The View'
Billy Ray Cyrus certainly knows how to burn a bridge. First he
angers his daughter
Miley by comparing her to Anna Nicole Smith. Then he
attacks Disney, saying 'Hannah Montana' destroyed his family. Now he goes and upsets TV legend Barbara Walters after his daughter forced him to drop out of a scheduled interview on 'The View' this week.
"When Miley found out her father was scheduled to appear on 'The View' on Wednesday she went nuts," a family friend tells me. "Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [Barbara and Whoopi] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen."
The
GQ interview started off a firestorm after Billy Ray's bombshell that he feels isolated from his daughter, blaming everyone but himself. "I'm scared for her," he said in the interview. "She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm."
Billy Ray's comments had come out of nowhere, leaving everyone, including Miley, to wonder why her dad had decided to go public with private family matters.
"At first Miley defended her dad, wanting to believe he had been tricked into saying bad things by the magazine," an insider with knowledge of situation tells me. "Miley truly wanted to give her father the benefit of the doubt, goodness knows she's said things she wishes she could take back. But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made."
True, you don't accidentally end up as a guest on 'The View.' That is a heavily planned event!
Billy Ray's representative confirmed to me that his trip to NYC had been canceled, at least for now.

"forced her dad" to do anything just goes to show you what a spoiled catered to bimbo she is. No one can make Miley Cyrus worse than she already does herself. All she need do is open that quacker or walk down the street for everyone to see what a numskull she is.

Billy Ray was just beginning to ressurect his own career with "Doc" when he dropped his to protect Miley and persue her career. This is the thanks and respect he gets. That's the trouble with parents today. They give up everything so their kids can have everything and when the kids grow up they tell their parents to go fly a kite or stick them in a nursing home.
Parents better start waking up and realize what they are doing to their kids by spoiling them rotten. Try teaching school for a few weeks and see what you've done to them. Disrespectful and selfish don't even begin to describe them.

Sarab - could not have said it better myself! I met Billy several years ago and by all counts he was a decent guy. His twit of a daughter needs a good old-fashioned spanking!
I guess, except "doc" was canceled 2 years before the first season of Hannah Montana. And if he REALLY wanted to look out for his family *Miley isn't his only child* he should have made a go of his show, made money and sent them to college. I think his show being canceled had less to do with Miley and more to do with he isn't talented. He is a mediocre actor and one hit wonder singer. She is unattractive and I am not sure if she will continue her success away from the "tweens" who made her. Look at Hilary Duff. Similar story, what has she done lately?
Elizabeth, from what I know Hilary Duff has had several guest spots on some shows i saw her in one on "Law and Order SVU" the other night and she had a short recurring-role on "Gossip Girl" and did a movie for ABC Family. She also just got married to a hockey player. I'm guessing she just wants to take a break.

People are so quick to blame, that's the problem with society. And what's with all these "better than and down on his haircut or patch?!" It's not about the haircut. The writers could have bad ones too! Hair isn't the point!
Ok, first a child, even an ADULT child, cannot FORCE a RESPONSIBLE adult to do anything. WHO is the parent here? It is about time Billy and his wife, err ex-wife, start acting like PARENTS, for once.

Parens should be their childrens role models, not strangers we see on tv. Thats part of the problem with kids, their parents leave it up to strangers to guide their own children.
Miley has a bum for a father, he has used her for years now as his meal ticket. Billy should know by now, to not talk badly about his own daughter, but he cant seem to help himself. He craves the spot light, hes not a good singer, so he lives through, and off, of Miley. After running his mouth last week, it was not enough for Billy, so he wanted to go on national tv to talk about her more...
Its pathetic for anyone to use someone, but to use their own daughter.. Billy needs to start acting hs age, and be a father for once in his sorry life. For starters, shave that thing off of his face, and get a hair cut. Hes not 21 like he wants use to think. Then he should try talking to Miley, like an adult, and try to put himself in her shoes. How would he like it if Miley, started talking about him in public? Billy was never a good father to his daughter, and never will be. He is way too busy kissing up to her, for that next big check. Billy gave his rights up to be Miley's father many years ago, when he put her in front of cameras for money.

I hope Billy Ray will get a masculine hair cut and stop trying to look like Miley's boyfriend instead of her daddy. This is probably why she lost respect for him. He became her friend instead of being her Role Model and her authority. He allowed her to get out of hand too early. Where was mom in all of this? Why didn't she put her foot down? I'm sure if the rest of the world saw what was going on, she saw what was going on. Now that Miley's gone rogue, I guess daddy is out and mama's Miley's friend. According to reports, she's gone a little rogue as well. Looks like another Lindsey Lohan and Mama and there is not a thing Billy Ray can do about it except be careful Miley don't stop payment on his checkbook.

What a Joke this story is. He wasn't scheduled to talk about Miley. He has an album that was being released on that day and was booked to promote it. He canceled the appearance himself because he found out that he would be questioned about the issues with Miley and he didn't want to have anymore discussion about his and Miley's personal life brought up before the public, not because Miley or her team told him to cancel. He is a good dad and he did the right thing by canceling even though he knew it would affect the sales of his own album. He wanted the show to be focused on his album and his music, not Miley and his personal issues. He put his daughters well being before his own.
