What's Behind Carrie Underwood's Ban From Canadian Radio? Blame Her Husband's Hockey Trade
Carrie Underwood probably didn't realize how much her life would be affected by marrying a professional hockey player from the Canadian captial of Ottawa -- until now.
Us Magazine reports that Ottawa radio station KISS 105.3 banned all of her songs from ever being played at the station, in response to her
husband Mike Fisher being traded from the Senators to the Nashville Predators.
The station called the trade a "betrayal to our community" and implied that Underwood had something to do with Fisher's trade, adding that he "was lured away from Ottawa by a country-music superstar."
The trade does put the couple in the center of country music's mecca, and perhaps the station pulled the songs as a publicity joke, but Fisher wasn't laughing.
"I heard about it right away, and Carrie heard about it and she was extremely disappointed and frustrated," Fisher told the Vancouver Sun. "I think they meant it as a joke that really wasn't funny ... obviously Carrie had nothing to do with the move or the trade or anything, so to imply something like that was just wrong."

Since they can't hold onto a hockey player, they punish his wife. That is about what you can expect, from the Canadians. If it was meant as a oke it sucks bad.

To those in charge of programming decisions at 105.3, what a "cheesy" gimmick. Why don't you go to your room and pout. Perhaps you could hold your breath, until you get your way.

Geez, like it was her fault her hubby got traded. Get over it, and grow up. Love Carrie and Mike, great couple.

I hope they're banning Neal Young then, and Jim Carrey from the theaters and Mike Myers from the flicks too. Silly!!!! We could ban pouteen, but who in their right mind would eat it anyway, eh?

It's spelled poutine, and I imagine the same people eating the infamous Quebecois dish are the same ones eating fried butter from Texas.
CRUEL!!! it's not HER fault the guy fell in love with and married her..it was menat to be. get over it and quit being so mean ,she had nothing to do with his trade for heavens sake..maybe he WANTED to be traded, who knows ? but still,it's not her fault.i'm pretty sure even if he and carrie didn't know each other,he still would've been traded, maybe he was traded and someone else new came to his old team at the same time or maybe he just went where the better money is..not that it's anyones business. that radio station is ridiculous taking it out on her.

I heard that station plays pop, would not be playing much of Carrie anyway. I think it was just a joke that went bad....if Carrie has that much power to get things done then she needs to be in Washington!

This is nothing but a publicity stunt from a talentless DJ looking for publicity. nothing more. Anyone with intelligence would not give this the time of day.I would advise everyone not to listen to the radio station because they are simple minded with no talent!!

What do you think of the Ottawa radio station pulling Carrie Underwood's songs in response to the trade = Why stop there. Pull her from all radio stations. se how popular/good she is then.

It was a joke gone bad. The radio station never played her songs since they're not a country music station.

Pathetic...not listening to 105.3 till they issue an apology and start playing her songs...

Why is it not surprising that not a single Yoko Underwood fan has a sense of humor? Perhaps because they worship an idol without any trace of a personality whatsoever?
I heard that Yoko's having her Madame Tussauds wax likeness handle all her Meet and Greets, because the wax figure is so much more personable.
And Yoko's music IS pop, or in the case of "Casanova Cowboy," pathetic outdated soft rock better suited for the soundtrack to a '70s teens sexploitation flick than the radio.

It's their loss!!!!that chinzy little radio station don't make any money off her records, however if someone is surfing channels and happen to hear her voice, that will be the station they will listen to. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose some sponsers. I'll bet the record stores don't pull her albums off the shelves!!!!!!!
