Judge Lifts Restraining Order: Chris Brown Allowed to Contact Rihanna

Chris Brown is allowed to contact Rihanna again -- just weeks after the two-year anniversary of the infamous altercation after a Grammy party that left Rihanna bruised and battered after a fight with Brown.

TMZ.com reports that a judge just lifted the restraining order prohibiting the R&B singer from contacting Rihanna and instead replaced it with a level one order, which means Brown can have contact with Rihanna as long as he doesn't "annoy, molest or harass her."

Brown, 21, was present in the Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday alongside his attorney, Mark Geragos. Rihanna did not attend the hearing though her lawyer, Donald Etra, told the court she had no objection to easing the restraining order.

Brown pled guilty to felony assault in 2009 and was put on probation for five years. He was also ordered to enroll in an anti-violence program and complete 180 days of community labor. And for the past two years, he's been required to stay at least 50 feet away from Rihanna.

The judge in the case has been pleased with Brown's ongoing progress since the incident. At a progress hearing last August, Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown, "You are doing very well. You are doing everything you are supposed to ... you are working consistently on your community labor."
