Jennifer Aniston Debuts a Big Girl Haircut

We don't know if we'll ever get bored with waxing about
Jennifer Aniston's hair. From the "Rachel," which she claims she hated and made thousands if not millions of American women look five pounds heavier, to the long layered look she has been sporting for the past half-decade, we could go on about Jennifer's hair for a good long while.
That's why we were surprised to see that Jen chopped her locks for the Madrid premiere of her rom com, 'Just Go With It.' Now Jen is sporting a sassy little bob (vaguely reminiscent of a look she had on the last season of 'Friends'), which the experts agree makes her look more mature and put together.
"Aniston had been loyal to long, blonde layers for a while, so it was definitely time for a change. I love the asymmetry of this new cut -- it's shorter in the back, and the highlights get lighter and more honey-blonde around her face," says
Daily Makeover Editor Lauren LeVine.
It has been a week of transformation, with Bieber going from, well, the "Bieber" to what looks like a shaggy pixie. Did hair icons get a discount at the salon this week? And what will Aniston's new 'do mean for her fans with long locks? Will we see some mass cuttings over the next couple of weeks?
"In the celebrity world haircuts can be headline makers. If you've already made one cut famous, as Jennifer Aniston did with the 'Rachel,' she's forever going to turn heads when a pair of scissors come close to her carefully sculpted tresses," says
Gotham magazine Editor-in-Chief
Samantha Yanks. "For all of Aniston's recent bashing of the haircut that made her famous, her new sexy bob is awfully close to the 'Rachel' just without the layers and a sleeker blowdry. With hair as closely watched and imitated as Aniston's, it wouldn't come as a great surprise if this spring we see tresses being chopped off across the nation."
Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow: Aniston and Bieber's Week to Cut
For Jen, it was just time to let go of the longer hair.
Lock & Mane's resident hair and style expert Jackie Cascarano says she is proud of Aniston for finally getting herself a big girl 'do.
"A shorter hairstyle can instantly make a woman look more sophisticated. Aniston's new bob is also a bit choppy at the ends, which keeps it young and fresh. Scarlett Johansson had a similar, shorter version of this look last summer," Cascarano says.
"She has had the same long, sleek style for ages. While it was pretty, this is a welcome change, especially from a hairstyle icon like Aniston."
Celebrity stylist Chris Brescia of the
Pierre Michel salon in New York City says that this look would work on most women, whereas Jen's old long layers can weigh a woman's face down, making it appear sunken and angular, and the "Rachel" can add some extra chub.
"The long angled bob is a sophisticated yet sexy look for Jennifer. The subtleties of this cut are what really make her look great. The length, while not long or short, is a perfect in-between. The brilliance of starting at the base of her neck and finishing at her collar bone not only show off her perfect shoulders but add length to her jaw," Brescia says. "Then the soft angle starting at her cheek bone opens her face up beautifully. This haircut captures her beauty from many aspects. It takes a great stylist and trusting client to achieve this look."

I could care less about her hair, Look at her she is simply beautiful. Guess you never lost someone you loved cancer.. A wig fixes alot but until you been been theredont be so quick to judge a poor haircut, it could have been the stylist

Don't know why they think they need to poof their lips out with collagen or whatever. It makes her look dreadful! Why do they all seem to think they need fat lips?

If I won a contest where I could go out on a date with any celebrity or spend an evening with any celebrity, I would pick Jenn hands down. She is down to earth and would be a lot of fun to be with. Even at 42 she looks great. Of course, I'm old as dirt, so it would be like I was robbing the craddle. Forget, Angleina Jolie, she dark as a witch and would be boring to be with.

YUK!! I thought I was looking at Madonna or Cyndi Lauper at first. Nothing wrong with a new do. But this one is not flattering on her. It makes her face look OLDer (not mature). Sorry Jen, but I am not crazy about this cut. The short cut she had on friends looked cute. Again, YUK. :(

Whoever took those pictures should be retrained or fired. Unless they were suppose to get pictures of her looking bad and if that was the goal well done. I hope that it is the picture and not the hair cut that has aged her and added a little weight. I think I will wait for a few more pics to be posted before I decide. On the up side of things her new movie looks like a really good one so yipee! These last few years have not been kind for her so I hope she gets the career recognition she deserves and the media takes their fangs out of her.

Poor, poor, "Rachel"...
Is this all she has left? New haircut?
Time to put her out to pasture.
Watch...it won't be long until she's adopting black babies from Africa. LOLOL

Why is she referred to as a "starlet?" She's had leading roles. Starlets usually have only walk-ons.

Will someone please explain to me why anyone cares at all abolut Jennifer Aniston. She's on every magazine and makes a living in silly movies that Meg Ryan can't be in any more. Who the hell cares? Why the fixation with her? I truly don't get it. Without having been married to Brad Pitt she would be nothing. Why does the world give a darn? I just don't get it...

I didn't like this look on her when she had it back on "Friends", and it's not any better now. Never thought the shorter hair was nearly as flattering on her as her long straight look.

I like her new cut but I preferred the cut she got right after she married Brad, if anyone remembers that shorter bob (it cut out those long extensions she had) which I thought was really cute on her. She's been wearing the same style for a long time so a change is nice on her.
I agree though, what's up with these photos - they make her look a lot older with sagging chin/jowls??! She looked great at her live SuperBowl appearance 3 weeks ago, so something's not right here??

I was expecting a drastic new haircut, but this is but a mere trim. So, who cares? It still looks the same around the face, same old part, same old hair-in-the-face.

Jennifer - I adore you. I always have, and you deserve all the great things in life your God has intended, as we all do. But I have a friend who works as a master colorist and stylist, Michael, who is a genius at blonde, and last night he said, "your cut is great, but there is too much orange at the root. You should contact me for his info. He works on Camden Drive in Beverly Hills and he has quite a heady list of clients. Now, here is the poem I wrote for you:

All women over 40 should cut their hair. I would like to see Jen's hair a bit curlier and softer around the face.Straight hair is not for everyone.

She just looks so different. I thought she may have had plastic sugery or something. I dont think she needs it, she is very pretty the way she is, but there is something weird about those pics. The hair cut is ok. I feel like Ive seen it on her before though.

The "experts" don't know sh*t about what looks good on a woman, or don't care. All they want to do is sell more haircuts, which usually means cutting a woman's hair short. The shorter the haircut on a woman, the more it screams, "I've given up on my femininity, youth and vitality." This cut doesn't make Jen "more put together." It makes her look dumpy and frumpy, like a worn-down soccer mom. The good news is that hair mostly grows back (except in my case more and more), so if Jen can keep those "experts" away from her beautiful hair, there's a chance she'll get her crowning glory back. Jen, you have one of the most beautiful heads of hair in the world. It doesn't been to be cut off or dyed, just let be!

Nor would I want to. Best to leave the lights off on that one! The years have been hard on her and she has NOT aged well.
