Nicole Kidman Opens Up About 'Roller-Coaster Ride With Fertility'
Nicole Kidman appeared on Australia's '60 Minutes' and talked about the latest addition to the Kidman-Urban family, baby Faith Margaret. She admits that she and husband
Keith Urban desperately wanted another child but could not conceive, so they turned toward a gestational carrier.
She became teary-eyed when talking about her problems with infertility and the "wonderful woman" who carried their daughter.
"I get emotional even talking about it because I'm so grateful to her. Anyone knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss that you go through trying and struggling with fertility ... [it] is such a big thing."
She added, "I've had a roller-coaster ride with fertility."
Kidman revealed that she would be open to having more children, but suspects that Urban would would say otherwise. "I think if you ask Keith would we have another baby, he'd be like, no."
In the interview, she made pains to clarify the difference between a surrogate and gestational carrier. "If it's your biological child then you use a gestational carrier, and if it isn't, then you use surrogate," she said.
The couple also has a 2-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose.
As for her two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise, Bella, 18, and Connor, 16, she says they have met their new sibling but admits there is not much of a connection between them yet.
"It's so different because they don't live with us," she said. "I would love them to come and live with us at some stage. I mean they're 18 and 16. It's a different thing. They're teenagers. They're in a whole different place."
The Aussie actress doesn't think much of her thespian abilities, divulging that she doesn't believe she's all that. "I think I have moments where I can tap into something that's deep, but I don't quite know how, and I don't see it as greatness."
The topic of Kidman's eerily smooth complexion was raised, but she didn't really put to rest any of the rumors. When the interviewer said who cares, she replied, "Well, I care about my face, but I don't want ... I mean, I think, you know, people are going to do and say things. They have my whole life."

Cling tight to that hotty husband of yours. He looks like he loves you a whole lot. If you ever gave him up -- there would be a line waiting :)

I have to agree. Since Cruise as painful as that was, Kidman has flourished.

I don't think much of Kidman. As far as I am concerned she simply walked away from her 2 adopted children, and wonders now why they aren't close to her new "little family". I doubt they would want to be involved in her perfect life.

That's just silly. I don't believe Kidman had much influence after that Scientology crap was drilled into their heads. I still think that's a big reason for their split. She wanted out of the cult.
Love this cute couple. They are true soulmates.
