Friends: CBS Can Beg, Charlie Is 'Never' Coming Back

CBS and Warner Bros. finally tranquilized the elephant in the room Thursday, saying in a statement that "based on the totality of
Charlie Sheen's statement, conduct and condition" they were
shutting down production of 'Two and a Half Men,' TV's top comedy, for the remainder of the season. But if the goal is to one day welcome Charlie back to the top-rated show, sources close to the erratic actor tell me he wouldn't return to the set even if they begged.
"Charlie is furious that they have done this," a close friend of the actor tells me. "He has never been late for work, and what he does and says in his private life is none of [CBS's] business. He feels like they have made billions off him, and now they dare to pull his show just because they didn't like an interview he did."
I'm not defending Charlie, but it does seem bizarre that CBS was happy to turn a blind eye when their biggest actor was scaring porn stars and inhaling booze and drugs, but now that he has very publicly dissed his show's creator, Chuck Lorre ("a stupid, stupid little man and a p**sy punk"), production has been halted.
What's Next? PopEater and RadarOnline.com Talk It Through:
Charlie's most incendiary comments were made to TMZ when, talking about Lorre, he said, "That piece of s**t took money out of my pocket, my family's pocket, and, most importantly, my second family -- my crew's pocket. You can tell him one thing: I own him."
And with that, it seems Charlie has decided it's time to move on for good.
"At this moment he would never return to that show even if they begged him," another Charlie insider tells me. "He's given these fools the number one comedy on TV, and their feelings get hurt over a stupid radio interview. Nothing would get him back on that set. It's over. Done."
Well, he does have a little thing called a
contract, so we'll see about that. In the meantime, Charlie is already claiming that he's
taking his talents to HBO for an "epic" show called 'Sheen's Corner.' Not surprisingly, a rep from HBO tells
PopEater that there is
"no truth to this."
Sheen's buddy also tells me that the actor will start "making movies with superstars" again. 'Major League 3'!!!
On Tuesday, I
exclusively reported that
CBS finally had enough of Charlie and were having internal discussions about carrying on 'Two and a Half Men' without its biggest star.
"The big question is can the show survive without Charlie," an insider with direct knowledge of the talks told me. "Would the show take a big hit? Yes, but if they found the right person to replace him it would survive and maybe even grow."
What do you think? Would you watch 'Men' with a Charlie replacement? Should CBS just cut their losses and call it a day?

The producers of hit TV series "Two and a Half Men" canceled the show for the season Thursday, February 24, 2011 after a new outburst by troubled actor Sheen -- who promptly launched another tirade. CBS and Warner Brothers made the announcement after Sheen, who was briefly hospitalized last month following his latest reported booze and drugs-fueled partying mishap, denounced the show's co-creator Chuck Lorre. I want him back I love Charlie and without him there is no show. He is the ONLY reason I watch it. I just find it odd that he could booze it up, drug bringes, wreck hotel rooms, have a bunch of hookers and cbs stood by him every step of the way. Yet now that he trashed the creator in public the show must be stopped?? How anal is this Lorre anyway? How thin a skin he has. It is clear that stopping the show has NOTHING to do with trying to get charlie help but as a punishment because he said something they didn't like. I mean who hasn't called their boss and/or co-workers idiots behind their backs?
He spoke his mind and so did CBS. This should be it. End the show and let the others move on, as well.
Nobody.....He is a loser and bad example and soon if he keeps it up he will end up dead of with all his drugs problems or with AIDS hanging and paying hookers...etc....he thinks he is all that and really he is pure trash....a disgrace to humanity and his family and he thinks it's funny and a joke..He can be replaced by someone else and it's a matter of time.
Dave, did you read the article? HBO has stated there is no truth to this
I believe CBS should continue production of "Two and 1/2 Men" without Charlie Sheen. His absence could be written into a script-the other cast members should not be punished as a result of Mr. Sheen's antics.
CBS should realize that the powers that be are trying to deal with a person and NOT the disease. Charlie needs help not abandonment. Attempting to reason with a person who obviously is irrational is adding fuel to the fire.

Sheen isn't the only drunken addict out there with limited acting skills. His clouded ego tells him he's irreplaceable. NOT. If they killed him off (tsunami victim?) they could have him return in the form of a talking Saint Bernard who occasionally gets into the liquor cabinet. Kinda like art imitating life, but with a better 'actor'.
2 and the half men is done for,cbs is stuiped what there doing going to cost them alot of money. what you do doesnt interfer with your work. cbs should of have stay out of it.
Rock, are you kidding? What you do doesn't interfere with your work? What he is doing has done nothing BUT interfere with his work and he's screwed himself AND everyone else on the crew, etc!! Typical alcoholic and drug addict though, it's all about him and nobody else matters, including his kids. I don't know that CBS had many options considering his downhill slide and with all this drunk dialing, i mean calling in to talk shows!!
The other actors are fantastic and I would like a spin off with everyone else!
Do yourself a favor, rock4046 and pick up a dictionary. You're stupid.
Since Charlie says he's totally clean now, his antics can't be blamed on the drugs & booze.........only on the so called man.
Maybe Alan could burn down Charlie's house too, then they all move in with mom.........
Ending the show and making a spinoff would be the best way to go about it. If the title is changed, the show can easily progress into something new and great. There have been lots of successful spinoffs that were much more successful (or just as successful) that the original series.
Just from one series alone there were great spinoffs...Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy...
Didn't they already set part of that up when they introduced Judd Nelson as John Cryers' nemesis earlier this season.
Who's to say they don't pick up on that & either make him Alan's friend & roommate.
Still, if they wanted to, they could just rehash the Judith Divorce issue except this time with Herb (Ryan Stiles) getting the boot from Judith.
As for the condo, they could say that Charlie decided to travel the world with Rose & he was so strong in his belief not to return to LA & face her husband "Manny Kin," that he planned instead to keep on the run & gave the house to Alan.
The Rose character (Melanie Lynskey) could return via off site phone calls - instructing Alan of Charlie's plans. Heck, with Alan & the "Ponzi" scheme, he would be quite happy to never tell Charlie of Rose's plan.
Either way, the show could continue without Charlie - it has for the last 2 seasons already!
if you peeps dont know all the facts your opinions are like airs holes everybody got 1 and they all stink..
He's a grown man who's doing this to himself, the "powers that be" are not forcing him into the lifestyle that's he's chosen for himself.
Charlie can continue to argue that what he does in his personal life is no business of CBS. However, when he takes his fight to the press and publicly disses his bosses, you know it's gonna get personal. He shouldn't be at all surprised by the actions of CBS. Get over yourself Charlie...there are plenty more alcoholic, porn loving drug addicts out there...you're just not that special.

actually chuck lorre was attacking charlie first and you can see where he did on his website. Then they told Charlie that if he responded they would cancel the show so i think Charlie had enough. The show was good because everyone together was cast very well but if there was one person i don't think you could replace on that show it would be sheen. Also who cares who he parties with or sleeps with everyone has issues and his are proabably not much worse then many posting on here.

You mean REAL MEN! Yea, we're still here, despite the best efforts of man hating thought police!
Boy this dingbat has really done it- shot himself in the foot with that addicted brain- I for one am glad to watch this self-implosion- he is so delusional about his worth as an actor and human-the final meltdown has begun
