Chelsea Handler Joins NBC Pilot Based on...Chelsea Handler

Late-night funny girl Chelsea Handler is making the jump from talk show to sitcom. The comedian has joined the NBC pilot based on her autobiography, E! Online reports.

But don't expect Handler to relive her younger years herself. She'll play her own big sister in show, which is based on Handler's book 'Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea.'

Former 'That '70s Show' star Laura Prepon will star in the pilot as Chelsea, and the actress is hopeful the network will order the series.

"We start in a couple weeks," Prepon said. "I hope NBC gets behind it. There's a lot of buzz. It's different and edgy."

We'd expect nothing less from Handler, the woman behind E!'s 'Chelsea Lately' talk show, known for its late-night shenanigans.

Prepon adds that it's perfect to cast Handler as her big sis on the show.

"I'm from Jersey," Prepon said. "Chelsea and I are similar, so it's perfect we play sisters. It's funny, because her vodka is my favorite vodka, too. We both drink the same thing!"

I lover her Im actually in the middle of reading her latest book on my kindle now shes great she tells it like it is and isnt afraid of what people thinks of her I love her

She's funny when she's unscripted, She's not good with the written word. Her stand-up is not at all funny. The audience at her stand-ups clap at her jokes but there's no laughter. Her skits on her Lately show are aweful because she can not act or do anything that's rehersed. She's lucky she's got Jo Koy, Loni Love, Sara Colona, Josh Wolf, Heather McDonald, Ross Mathews, and Chris Franjola joining her at The Round Table segments. They may have a few scripted jokes, but when they start winging it with jokes it can be hilarious.
People like when she tell's it like it is, ie hating Tori Spelling, and trashing all kardishians, Jersey Shore, Hef's girls, etc. But she kisses their butts when they're on. She changed her mind about Tori when her mom Candy Spelling was on.
And I watch it because my boyfriend loves her, Chelsey not Candy.

She's a pig and guess who her first guest will be? Her horse-faced friend Chinnifer...shouldn't they be broadcasting her show from Animal Planet instead?

I have never, ever heard of Chelsea Handler...Who is this BORING wanna-be??..I don't even like her name--it sounds weird...Should be: Haand, Handleman, Handle, or Handleberg but Handler? .Sounds like she's being "handled," literally, by other people!!

She is on NBC- NoBody Cares Network. Most people won't know about this show since not many are watching it, she probably gets more viewers on her cable show than she will here.

You had me until the part about Laura Prepon playing Chelsea. Who the hell cast HER to play Chelsea??? What a poor choice!!! I don't see the show lasting...
