Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem are two of Hollywood's hunkiest leading men, but at tonight's Academy Awards, they looked more like a pair of handsome cater-waiters than Oscar presenters.
The pair, who previously starred together in 'No Country For Old Men,' appeared to present the awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Screenplay in matching white tuxedo jackets and ties.
Considering the Oscars' reputation as the place to be seen in the latest designer styles, we expected some reference to the matching gear (post-show gigs as old-timey bartenders, perhaps?), which, much to our dismay, never came.

I believe the tuxes came after the reference to the first-ever Oscars ceremony in 1929 at the Roosevelt Hotel. Maybe they were just trying to go along with the retro stage set that was brought out behind them. That was my impression.

Oy. Get a clue Popeater. They were essentially "costumes" referencing the first Oscar ceremony, as LA pointed out. It's not what they wore for the event (note what Javier is wearing on the red carpet and later when Sandra was talking to him).
Shoddy reporting.
