Christina Aguilera Arrested With Boyfriend

Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend Matt Rutler were arrested early Tuesday morning in West Hollywood, according to TMZ.

The pop singer was booked on a misdemeanor charge for public intoxication, while Rutler also faces a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence.

Police reports state Aguilera was booked as 5'2" and 100 pounds. She was released from custody at the West Hollywood sheriff's station at about 7:30 a.m.

"We have no desire to prosecute, none whatsoever. It just for a public safety issue," Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said (via PEOPLE.) "When she was able to navigate and to think on her own and make her own way, she was released."

Whitmore contined, adding she stayed at the station overnight beause "she was not capable to taking care of herself."

"She was incapacitated. She was cooperative. She was not belligerent in any way whatsoever. She was just intoxicated," he said.

This the latest bump in the road for the singer, who faced public ridicule when she botched the national anthem at the Super Bowl and then stumbled onstage at the Grammys. Reports swirled in January that Aguilera's hard-partying ways were getting out of control.

Aguilera and Rutler have been dating since last fall. Aguilera's divorce from husband Jordan Bratman was finalized last month.

Jeez. Couldn't they take the dead people out of the slide show. It says Gary Coleman was arrested in January. They must have dug him up to put the cuffs on. I wonder if he resisted.

I get your 2), but why the 1)? She is at a healthy weight, look at her, not the number. A 100 pounds is thin for some women but Christina is a small person. Telling someone to eat a sandwich is every bit as rude as telling someone heavy to stop drinking milkshakes...

Uh, no, I have never gotten behind the wheel after "drinking a few" because I don't want to kill anyone or end up in jail for driving under the influence. Driving under the influence is absolutely not a normal or okay thing to do, it is extremely dangerous and stupid.

Sitting in a car after "drinking a few"? You're as honest as CA. Most drunks use the phrase "had a few" or "had a couple" when they either don't want to say how many they really had or don't have a clue.

They were picked up on Tuesday morning? Was that right after they got the kids off to school or at about 2:00 - 4:00 AM? I believe it is the latter and those aren't the times when you find the really straight, sober and clean people out.

Celebrity is such a heavy load for some people. It seems it constantly requires that people jam their heads up their butts.
