Corey Haim's death has been overlooked by his peers once again. After being omitted from the SAG Awards' In Memoriam montage in January, Haim was notably missing again from the memoriam segment at the 2011 Oscars. The '80s star, whose credits include 'The Lost Boys,' 'License To Drive' and 'Lucas,' died on March 11, 2010, at the age of 38.
Now, his longtime friend, Corey Feldman is speaking out about the Oscars snub.
"I am gravely disappointed that the public outcry of the voices of Corey's supporters and fans on his omission from the SAG memorial was not heard by the Academy. Corey's films have earned the industry over a half a billion dollars and his work remains an inspiration to young artists world wide," Feldman told PopEater in a statement.
"The fact that politics have interfered with his legacy is a clear indication that the people making decisions in these organizations do not have a handle on who the public adores. Corey dedicated his life to the film industry. The same industry that failed to dedicate even 30 seconds to his memory."

30 seconds?? Are you high it was Corey Haim not Paul Newman.
And I bet the accdemey is all torn up that a heavy weight like Corey Feldman is disappointed in them.

Stay quiet Paul, you're a FOOL
The difference between Corey and Dennis is not the addiction but the body of work. That was my point. If Corey had been in big successful films with at least one stellar memorable performance, he probably would have been included.

Feldman is a douche, but the douche is right.

The fact that people are saying Corey Haim sucked is absolutely absurd. Lucas was a great movie, as was Lost Boys. He helped define the '80's. He was a teen heartthrob, and his posters were on teenage girls' walls all over the world. You don't have to like the guy, but you can give him credit where it's due. He battled his demons just as everyone on the face of the earth does. He was a movie actor, and he deserved a spot in the montage. Plain and simple.
Typical political, unnecessary Hollywood B.S. in full force with this one. As if they're not doing lines off toilet seats at 4 in the morning, and hiding their skeletons in every closet and back alley on Sunset Blvd.

Corey who?

It's bad enough that you people don't get enough awards for yourselves throughout the year and every year....how boring. Now we have to posthumously award a dead person something?? Please God, get over yourselves and get a life, as none of you are all that!!!

The Lost Boys is better than any other crap out there today. Corey Haim is still a superstar.

I don't think politics had anything to do with it. I believe it was a sad oversight. I actually look foward to the memoriam on these award shows, there are always a few actors that I had no idea had past away. It makes me go and look up some of thier movies to enjoy.

You would be wrong Marcia, it was politics for certain. They had just snubbed Haim at the SAG awards held BEFORE the Oscars, and his fans had a fit. It was in the papers and the Academy knew all about it. Whoever made the final decision to omit him, should get a public smackdown.
I meant "Marsha" not Marcia
First of all, most of the Oscars really stunk this year. Franco was boring & moody & his sidekick was imature, giggly & star-struck. Celine Dion, Kurt Douglos & Billy Crystal were the best parts of the night.
I just knew they would leave Poor Corey, (may he rest in peace) out of the tribute. It's disgusting that they would not honor his contribution to the movie industry. He might not have done anything recently, but his body of work should not have been slighted. Shame on them! At least his best friend is speaking out against this outrage! Way to go Corey!

Oh gosh. He wasn't included in a "tribute" that would have meant 5-10 seconds on the screen. I can't imagine a greater snub in the world.

The reason he was left out is: Never made a movie that would have ever been nominated for an award, was never a GOOD actor, his only talent was getting high and trying to mess up the other Coreys life and marriage.

I think corey should have been encluded. When Heathe Ledger died he won awards for the dark knight. Which was fine with me he was an amazing actor. Now corey Haim was by no means a Heath Ledger, but it was known heath died from a multiple drug overdose and he won just the same. the only reason corey is being judged more is because before he died him and corey feldman did that show the 2 corey's and in it you say haims addiction first hand, and you say him treat people awful and deny is addictions, that is why people are soo judgemental. im sure if there was a picture of ledger with a needle sticking outa his arm, fading in and out while screaming at everyone then people would have felt differently about him 2. let poor haim r.i.p and give him some recognition for the good points he had in his life.

So he died of a drug overdose... he should have still been included. However, they omitted Farrah Fawcett who died of anal cancer.
So what this tells me then is if a person is a homosexual they should be omitted from the obituary as well since homosexuality is offensive.

Are you calling Farrah Fawcett a homo?
The one messed up thing is that we are overlooking him because of some drug thing from his past or present. If you take one second and stop and look at who else we"so called idolize"you'll notice they are all drug addicts in one way or another. For starts john wayne, marliyn monroe, jimmy hendrix, elvis, michael jackson, kurt cobain, chris farley, jim morrison and the list can keep going. As far as for corey i say yes he should because he did make an impact on the movie industry.

I WASN'T MENTIONED EITHER.....BUT THEN AGAIN.. IT'S NOT OVER YET. .....SAY "NO" TO MAALOX...!!!

The "Remembering" segment should be all-inclusive. If there isn't enough time to include all the actors, they can certainly make room by eliminating the publicists, agents, directors, etc. Sad as deaths were, I'm sure most movie-goers didn't know who many of these people were; actors may have, but since the show is televised it meant for the movie-goers not the actors.
