Elton John: I'm Going to the Royal Wedding

After much speculation, it turns out Elton John will be going to the royal wedding after all.

According to PEOPLE, the singer and partner David Furnish will attend the April 29 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London.

"We do have an invitation," John told Canada's CTV. "I've been trying to be discreet."

We don't blame him. The media frenzy over the invitation list has hit a high, and John had insisted he wouldn't be getting one of the coveted invites that David and Victoria Beckham and Kanye West have reportedly received.

He discussed the betrothed couple, adding that the relatively shy Middleton "isn't Diana in personality."

"She is very discreet, she is a very beautiful girl," he said. "They have been together a long time, and I think she has handled the pressure so much."

As for William, John hopes he'll take the throne sooner than later.

"I hope [William] becomes king at an early age," John said. "I think we need young people like him to lead. I think he will be a tremendous king -- not that Charles won't, but I think William will be ... tremendous."

I know you will have a good time at the wedding and Princess Diana will be looking down with the bigets grin on her face seeing William and Kate married

Princess Di will not be looking down on the wedding as she has been dead since 1997. what foolish statements from people. Once gone is once gone and your spirit might be in another place but you are resting in peace and never know what happens on this earth again. she most certainly would have given her approval of Williams marriage to Kate Middleton if she was still alive. But how about not being foolish and think she is loooking down on it since all of her senses are gone and this would be impossible.
