Joan Collins Blames Tight Dress for Oscar Night Hospital Visit

Actress Joan Collins revealed that her very tight dress was the reason she had to be rushed to the hospital after she nearly passed out at an Oscar after-party.

The 77-year-old 'Dynasty' actress was reported to be wearing a purple figure-hugging dress by designer Georges Hobeika at the 2011 Oscars.

Page Six is revealing that Collins was at Graydon Carter's viewing party and dinner at the Sunset Tower Hotel when she started to feel faint.

Collins went and rested on a sofa at the hotel's bar, while her husband Percy Gibson, called for an ambulance. Collins was discreetly helped out of the back of the hotel.

She told the Daily Mail that the reason she could have fainted was possibly her very tight dress. "The truth was, I made the wrong decision to wear a very tight dress, and had something rather like a Victorian swoon."

Collins also said, "We had been there for seven hours, and I started feeling dizzy. I tried to get some air, but I felt really faint. I wanted to leave in our limo, but Percy decided to call an ambulance. We went to the hospital, and they did all the tests before the doctors told me I was absolutely fine and released me."

Ah, Joan Collins...bet she'll never wear a too-tight garment again...not that she needs to. She looks great just as she is. Glad nothing was terribly wrong with her.

These old women who think they still look as good as they did 30 and 40 years ago are just plain pathetic.Why was she even there? She hasn't done anything,except a Roseanne guest shot about 20 years ago,since Dynasty went off the air.

It wasn't so much her dress as it was her undergarments, they can hold you in so much that you can't hardly breath and that isn't so good for so many hours and for an elderly woman it's worse.

It was too tight for sure. Not necessarily for her age, but for her body! Must have felt like a python constricting her and cutting off circulation and breathing....I'm just guessing, but she probably had on a body girdle underneath it that was more to blame...the dress doesn't look that tight on second look. But in order to get into it, she must be all trussed up first.

I love her. My God, she's 77? I've never seen anyone look that good at that age and perservere through life like she does! Her wit is still as sharp as ever. She's always taken extremely good care of herself and this is the result!
