Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn Jet Down to Mexico

Maybe Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn are dating after all. The two mega-movie stars jetted off to Mexico for a whirlwind trip on Tuesday, PEOPLE reported.

Johansson and Penn departed on a private jet from Van Nuys airport Tuesday morning and were spotted enjoying a lobster dinner Tuesday night in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The pair returned to Los Angeles early Wednesday morning where Johansson is filming 'We Bought a Zoo' with Matt Damon.

The twosome was also seen sharing an intimate lunch earlier this week at Los Angeles Cuban restaurant, Versailles. At the lunch, Johansson was photographed with her leg in Penn's lap.

The 'Avengers' actress and 'Milk' actor were first seen together in early February when they were nearly inseparable at a party celebrating 'Black Swan.' "They were flirting with each other all night, pretty much ignoring everyone else," a source told PEOPLE at the time.

Just a week later, Johansson's rep told E! News that they were nothing more than friends. "Scarlett and Sean are not dating -- they have been friends for years," her rep said. "Nothing more, nothing less. They have been talking over the last few months regarding Haiti Relief and Scarlett's upcoming trip to Haiti as Oxfam's Global Ambassador." Looks like that friendship might have blossomed into something more!

Johansson separated from husband Ryan Reynolds in December. Penn and actress Robin Wright divorced in 2009 after 13 years of marriage.

@Sue. I agree. I used to be a fan of his. Fast times at Ridgemont High, the one where he played a mentally impaired man, and countless others. Then I saw Milk. Well part of it. That movie grossed me out! I, myself, think he's creepy too.

Have you ever been to Versailles restaurant? It's actually very good but everything is so heavily laden with garlic that you literally reek from it for a couple of days. This makes me think they are very cosy with each other.
