Christina Aguilera Joins NBC's 'The Voice'

Just days after an arrest for public intoxication, Christina Aguilera has officially joined the new NBC show 'The Voice.'

According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer has signed on to be a coach/judge on the Mark Burnett-produced singing competition. She'll join 'Forget You' singer Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine at the judging table.

"I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it," Aguilera said in a statement. "To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists' careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to 'The Voice.'"

Burnett said he knew right off the bat that Aguilera would be the perfect female coach.

"When I decided to produce 'The Voice,' I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera," Burnett told EW. "Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of 'The Voice.'"

Aguilera has made her fair share of headlines this year. After she botched the national anthem at the Super Bowl and had a slight stumble onstage at the Grammys, the singer was arrested for public intoxication on March 1.

Set your DVRs because 'The Voice' premieres on April 26 on NBC.

What happened to so-called morality provisions within entertainer contracts of employment? If the entertainer does anything to bring shame to themself, the employer can cancel the contract of employment.If they were enforced today we would have a much smaller entertainment industry.

ok. Nlw while I don't agree with drinking and driving, I did do this HUGE mistake when I was younger. I regret it everyday. I am so thankful that I did not hurt anyone or myself. It was very stupid. BUT, tell me that NONE of you that are throwing stones at Christina has EVER done this? I think she is going through a lot right now, and she is not making the very best decisions. Her boyfrind was the one driving by the way. None of you have ever been drinking and had someone drive you(intoxicated or not)? Hands down she has an AMAZING VOICE! She truely has talent(unlike Brittany and Lindsay). And also to say she is ugly? Are you kidding? Yes, I agree she needs to tone down the white blonde hair thing, but she is very pretty. I hope that this behavior of hers is just a short phase and she realizes her mistakes. But I don't think any of us have the right to judge. I think that everyone that is bashing her is just jealous. And I am NOT some huge fan of hers. I just think her voice is amazing.
