Charlie Sheen Officially Fired From 'Two and a Half Men'
Charlie Sheen may be winning, but he just lost his contract with Warner Bros Television.
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on 'Two and a Half Men' effective immediately,' a statement from the company read (via
The Hollywood Reporter).
Sheen himself responded to
TMZ, in typical Sheen fashion. "This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshisc--k again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."
Update: TMZ just obtained a copy of the termination letter sent to Sheen's attorney by Warner Bros.. The letter stated the actor was fired because he committed a felony involving "moral turpitude." The 11-page letter also said: "Your client has been engaged in dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill."
As for the absolute reason why Sheen was fired, the letter states it was due to Sheen selling "cocaine to others as part of the self-destructive lifestyle he has described publicly... that have 'interfere[d] with his ability to fully and completely render all material services required' under the agreement."
Sheen told TMZ that he's not buying it and plans to sue Lorre and Warner Bros. He believes they fired him because he insulted Lorre--which they technically can't do.
According to TMZ, the decision to cancel the series entirely, or bring it back in the fall, has not been made.
This is just another twist and turn in the Sheen saga that has erupted over the past few weeks. After his hospitalization led to a postponement of taping 'Men,' the troubled actor went on several radio shows to vent his displeasure -- ultimately insulting his boss Chuck Lorre, prompting CBS and Warner Bros. to cancel the rest of the season.
Then Charlie continued his media blitz with appearances on '20/20,' 'The Today Show' and even a live chat with TMZ and made several quotable quips about warlocks, Adonis DNA, tiger's blood and winning.
During this time, Sheen also turned to Twitter, becoming the fastest person to ever earn 1 million followers, and even set up an Internet chat with UStream, naming his show 'Sheen's Korner.'
See fans suggest who could be the next Charlie Sheen -- both on 'Two and a Half Men' and in the headlines:

It's a shame that CBS/Warner cancelled a great performer from a cash cow media sensation. What Charlie does in private is none of our business. CBS/Warner gave him an extension of contract after his personal crisis in Colorado. CBS/Warner knew then what was going on and now they think they are punishing Charlie.
They are punishing the viewers and now their own pocket books.
No offense to the cast members but they should all want out until Charlie gets reinstated. Remember people it was Charlie that got that ball rolling towhere CBS/Warner have made 100's of millions of dollars. I will not watch CSI ever again...it's on a network that wants money and only money. The network never cared when Charlie was in Re-hab, etc. and now they want to put their money where there mouth is....Tough luck CBS....I'm not interesting in ever watching your shows..........

The problem is - he didn't do it in private. He made it public because he could and because the media is a sensationalizing, exploitation machine.
I do beleive that Charlie could take a good look at himself, but the way I look at it the show just wouldnt be the same and I dont believe that Jon Cryer could hold the show,I also dont believe that they could possibly find another person with Charlie's knack for doing the character as well as he has for yrs. It's good luck to the station if they can , cause he had a lot of charm in his personality for the role he did.
He is not the "Acting God". It takes more than an actor to make a show. This isn't the first time he has caused the show to be put on hold. If I were to speak to or about the people who emloyee me I would be expecting to get fired. Charlie Sheen is in a downward spiral. His "Godesses" are there for publicity and money. I am surprised the mothers of Sheen's children allow their children to be in this environment. Go Warner Brothers!
Why would any decent person on this earth want to be entertained by an arrested wife beating abuser...Who's also threathend to cut off his latest wife head...Why he is so conceited and wrapped up within himself that he would not only tweet and twitter about it but also broadcast it via webcam from his cellphone. He is a known alcoholic and admitted buyer of illegal narcotics who for all of his life has also illegally paid for prostitutes...This criminal belongs in prison with the others who broke the laws...Even more so as he is the white washed current version of that wife beater, OJ Simpson...Why wait until there is another Bronco doing 35 with him behind the wheel cellphone in hand tweeting and twittering on a California highway minus the cliffs he always uses to drove his vehicle over.
I doubt "Sober Valley Lodge" is going to be sober tonight. I would get the hell out of there.

Danny: let's not forget that Charlie built this up and because of child's play with the creator who actually started this fiasco, CBS/Warner need to be taught a lesson. Zillions of dollars have been paid to them and now they just figure oh well we don't want a mouthy cast member, well the creator was mouthy first, they fired the wrong guy......Money again will speak.
Charlie has problems but they are his own it's none of our business how he runs his life. You don't know about the entertainment field or you would know how it works and why.

I heard that they might offer the part to John Stamos-I would give it a try and watch the show and see how he would do. I wonder if John Cusack would be interested?

I read in Insider Weekly that CBS is talking to Clay Aikens as a replacement for Charlie. Clay has that same perky personality as Charlie but without the baggage and would be excellent in the role.

If the show continues, I bet Chuck Lorre will slip in a few "Charlie Sheen" jokes. haha Yes, Charlie effectively plays himself on the show, but it is the writing that is brilliant. I don't see them writing "Charlie" out of the script; hope they can find a good replacement. I'm a fan of Charlie Harper. Charlie Sheen - not so much. Hope he gets the help he desperately needs.

I have only watched the show a few times, but I know a lot of people who love it. Having said that, don't you think it is the writers and ENSEMBLE cast who make the show? A lot of great actors don't make it because of the writing. Charlie was not really acting. He was playing himself to a certain extent. There are many actors who could replace Charlie and the show would go on. For the other actors and the crew I hope this happens.

justalady: I realize Charlie went public but only after the creator...what's his name....not famous enough...but rich enough becuase of Charlie....the creator started the public spat and naturally Charlie responded. Charlie has done alot for alot of people and yes I believe at times he's gone off the deep end but it's his life and he has every right to defend himself. I think the media and creator wanted this badly enough to get ratings up again....It won't matter if Charlie ever goes back on the show...he will forever get his royalties that's something CBS/Warner can not take from him. All CBS/Warner are doing is creating more havoc by letting this happen and put all of those people out of work. The cast did not deserve that. Any replacement for Charlie won't be Charlie so it appears that this show will forever go down as a # 1 hit with alot of royalties with all the syndications. Put the blame where it belongs and thats to the creator, what's his name.
