Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are on two totally different pages when it comes to the custody of their 2-year-old son, Bronx, PEOPLE reports.When Simpson filed for divorce last month, she indicated she was seeking full custody with Wentz getting visitation rights. Wentz, however, filed papers Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking joint custody of Bronx. He also asked they each pay their own lawyer fees; Simpson had requested that Wentz pay all the legal fees.
Legal experts tell PEOPLE it's hard to tell whether this will blow up into a full custody battle or if Bronx's custody will be figured out amicably because the divorce papers have very limited detail.
"There's no fire. It's a very straightforward response asking for joint custody and fair distribution of attorney's fees. He's not gearing up for a custody war," a source close to Wentz told PEOPLE.
Simpson filed for divorce last month after two and half years of marriage. It was reported Simpson, who married the former Fall Out Boy bassist at her parents' California home in 2008, filed documents in LA County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of their split.

Pete should get joint custody. It was always him in pics spending time with their kid not Ashley. She should have to pay for her own attorney...she's the one that filed for divorce first...and why does she need alimony...oh wait...she has no talent...maybe she does need it.

there both good parents, and it should be joint custody, but i dont believe pete shouldnt get full custody because he spends alot of time touring, thats not a good lifestyle for a little kid.

Twenty somethings shouldn't get married. Thats too soon and if they do at least wait five years into the marriage to see if it can last.

they should give up total custody of this child to the grandparents or foster care. so tragic that in their selfishness and immaturity, they couldn't move beyond their so called "irreconcilable differences" to truly make their child's emotional and psychological growth their #1 priority as they think they would like to purport. tragic that another child of celebrities will grow up to accept this as normalcy. give them a few months and they'll be posing on the limelight again on the dating scene. AND LIFE GOES ON.

This is a case of "the lesser of two evils" and this time I would have to agree that if anyone should get full custody it should be Pete Wentz.
As for attorney fees..............OH BROTHER!!! This is NOT a personal injury lawsuit where you are suing soemone for damaging something of yours or injuring you. Those are cases where you ask for attorney fees. Ashlee can certainly afford her own attorney fees plus the fact is she filed for divorce initially so she should be the bearer of the fees! I am sure "Good Old Dad Joe" made a small Kings Ransom off of both of his daughters, so let "Daddy Dearest" pay for Ashlees attorney!
Women need to understand that they are not going to get sole custody of a child anymore unless the court finds evidence that the father is not fit. Who in the hell is she to deny him the right to be a parent if he wants to be in that child's life? Maybe he was a bad husband but you do not punish your children because you do not like your ex.

Ashlee needs to grow up and take care of her child. She needs to let Pete make the living, but she wants to be in the spotlight with all of the attention on her.

This really ticks me off. There wouldn't be an issue if people took their marriges seriously. When people get married they should stay married through thick and thin. People in today's society are so weak. Grow-up. Nobody ever said marrigae would be easy. You do what it takes to make your marriage work. And maybe you should start with the Lord.
