Gwyneth Paltrow Signs Record Deal

Gwyneth Paltrow has signed a $900,000 deal with Atlantic Records and will release her first full-length album.

Paltrow, who of course turned some heads with her musical performance in the movie 'Country Strong' and in a guest slot on the television show 'Glee,' tipped the news on the Oscars red carpet. "We're talking about it now," Paltrow said at the time. "So we'll see."

While her album is expected to be in the country-pop realm, Paltrow has admitted she wants to record with Jay-Z, a close friend of hers and husband Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay.

Of course, Paltrow also showed off some of her musical adaptability when she joined Cee Lo Green for his performance of 'Forget You' during this year's Grammy Awards.

Atlantic seems the proper place for the actress-turned-singer with a diverse roster that ranges from the Zac Brown Band and Brett Eldredge to Sean Paul, B.o.B, T.I. and Kid Rock.

Look, I am all for a person following their dreams and all, but she can't sing! She was horrible at the oscars. I thought my t.v was out of tune at first but quickly realised that it was her.

I'm confused...who told her that she could sing? I'm guessing someone who thinks they can convince us that she can sing and make money off of her fame...hmmm..? A bit pathetic!

I think of all the very talented people who are struggling to get noticed and G Paltrow gets a deal.

But now, that “dalliance” could be extended indefinitely. Paltrow is reportedly seeking a real record deal, with a real record label, to record a real album for a real music career. One report even places that record deal at almost a million dollars. Paltrow’s publicist denied rumors of a finalized deal, telling EW, “There is no deal in place for Gwyneth with any record label yet. (“Yet” is clearly the operative word there.) Am I the only one who thinks that much of the charm of Gwyneth-as-Songstress will fade if she actually starts to get serious about this music stuff?

She has no voice! Her pitch is ok but even with the wonders of technology, she sounds flat even when she isn't. The tone simply is not there.

Why give Paltrow a difficult time? She has a decent voice. If the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim and The Countess LuAnn can get a song out and they are tune death, then I don't know what's going on with the music industry. They are horrific! But Paltrow definitely has a nice voice and she's been singing for quite some time.

All the talented people out there that can't get a record deal. The music industry is just a joke. Paltrow is mediocre and that's being generous. She should be ashamed of herself for accepting the contract. She has realize how this looks...pathetic.

I think Gwyneth is great. She's fun to watch, good voice & I'd buy her album. She's singing on her own without a studio adding or covering up her voice. She should be more successful than Brittany Spears who still sounds like a mouse.

First of all you haters out there do not judge Gwen and her siging.She is very good.After all when she performed on the AMC'S with Vince Gill the whole auddiance gave her a standing ovation.I will defaintly buy this album.Good luck Gwen I am happy for you.

A pampered showbiz brat who never had to fight for anything suddenly decides she wants to be a country singer?And then gets a record deal? With all of the false,phony crap going on in america today I"m sure it will fit right in. She sings on a par with Sly Stallone trying to sing country. Maybe they can do a duet.

The studio recording can do wonders for the voice, because this girl cannot sing publicly. We dont have enough country western singers?? I use the word singer loosely.
