In an acoustic chunk of a live concert in Paris, Katy Perry covered 'Born This Way,' cementing Lady Gaga's new hit as the most quickly covered song by the most people ever [ed note: waiting for Guinness World Records verification on this].Perry sat between two acoustic guitarists and paid tribute to Gaga with a shortened, slightly modified take on 'Born This Way.' And know what? It was pretty great.
Last June, Perry launched an attack on Gaga for her 'Alejandro' video, in which the singer dresses as a nun and gobbles up a rosary. In a Twitter post, Perry said using "blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."
Seems all is forgiven? See the clip after the jump.

It's official: the music industry endorses hackery over creativity.

Gaga copies Madonna, now Perry copies Gaga....nothing original about any of them...flash in the pans all of them!

Its OFFICIAL.......... MAJOR CHEESEBALL
Which just goes to show you all know nothing about music - years ago - granted - back in the 40's and 50's - songs would be shopped around and recoded by all kinds of people - sometimes the same song - recorded by 2 or 3 differnt singers/groups - would be on the charts at the same time.
Also - this is a concert - singers cover other singers' songs all the time in concerts.
THIS IS NOTHING NEW PEOPLE!!!!!!
And when you have their talent - or better - you can call them talentless hacks.

Thank you! I can't figure out all this negativity. Almost every band and soloist has covered somebody's song. Heck, Michael Bolton covered Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay, When a Man Loves a Woman, etc. Just read where Led Zeplin used to cover Running Bear in concert, of all things. The Rolling Stones have covered lots of songs, Time is On My Side being one of them. Katy Perry did a great job with this song; she wasn't claiming it, it was obviously a tribute to a great song whether you can stand Lady GaGa or not.
just LOVE a know it all..

Really? I know Katy Perry has been burning bridges with her producer and can't make any music of her own, but to cover Gaga's song after acting so high and mighty last year? She's a hypocrite and she needs to stick to her own material if she's going to talk crap about other artists. Ripping off other people of their work is a much more blasphemous offense in this business, and instead of preaching and acting ignorant she should stick to her own work and try not tanking her career for good with her rudeness and entitlement b.s.

I like Katy Perry, but she is no Lady Gaga. It's easy to oopy greatness, but it hard to be greatness.

Technically, Perry isnt ripping Gaga off. everyone knows you have to pay the artist of that certain song you want to sing. If Katy did if for money, she would be in jail. You cant profit off of someone else's song.

I despise Katey Perry....she can not sing....she sounds terrible, also what does she see in that hideous thing she calls a husband, man he is one ugly creature.
