Charlie Sheen Tells Life & Style: 'I'm Losing My Mind'

After starting what will go down in Hollywood history as the most highly publicized meltdown of all time,
Charlie Sheen is finally admitting to his problems and reaching out for help.
In the latest issue of
Life & Style, the actor admits that his life has taken a sharp decline in recent months and that, despite adamant declarations that he's "winning," his life has fallen off course.
"I'm really starting to lose my mind," says Sheen. "I'm ready to call anyone to help."
Sheen, who recently lost his job on 'Two and a Half Men,' in addition to custody of his twin sons, Bob and Max, to estranged wife
Brooke Mueller, now realizes that his lifestyle of excess has become unmanageable.
"I"m really trying to contain myself right now," says Sheen. "My lawyer wants to come over to my house and take the bullets out of my gun."
Friends are increasingly concerned about the actor's well-being, particularly since his children were removed from his home.
"It's crazy over here at the house," says a friend who was with Sheen when he learned he had been fired from his CBS show. "Charlie's losing it. He's really mad about the show, and dealing with the kids and Brooke is getting to be too much. Charlie is a ticking time bomb, and we all fear he could do something drastic like committing suicide or falling back on hard drugs."
The actor says his main priority is regaining custody of his sons, telling Life & Style, "I'll do anything to get them back. Now I don't give a f**k about the show or about anything [else]."
A source close to Sheen says that time is of the essence when it comes to getting Charlie's life back on track. "Anything could happen at any minute," says the source. "He's a danger to himself -- a really big danger."

Now, he's sober.

Actually, this is the best thing I have heard him say since this whole mess started. Maybe he IS actually sober now, and admitting he needs help is the first sign of a road to recovery. It's sad that it takes hitting rock bottom to see what is so obvious to nearly everyone else on the planet. I don't like Charlie Sheen, as an actor or as a person based on his latest antics, but I sincerely hope he gets his life back on track and succeeds in his recovery. I wouldn't wish addiction and all the horrible things that go with it on my worst enemy. And for the sake of his sons, I do hope he gets better. They deserve a dad, not a psycho with tigers blood, Adonis dna, or anyone more interested in his "goddesses" and "rock star life" than being their father.
I don't believe ANYTHING Life & Style publishes at all, it's all gargage.
GARBAGE!!!!!!! :)
"Losing" is present tense. Past tense "lost" would seem more appropriate.

a tuna is a dumb fish...charlie has dropped below that on the evolutionary scale
I wrote something about Charlie in regards to the drugs and alcohol that he is using. What I said was the truth but several people jumped down my throat. One even asked me what I was smoking. You don't have to be a genius to know what these do to you. Yes he has family but how can they help him when he doesn't want help. His mind is all screwed up. It is not easy. His father Martin had problems when he was younger and was able to be cured. I am sure it hurts his parents and siblings to see him like that. I liked him as an actor and it is a shame what it happening to him but like I said once before this is what happens when you use drugs and alcohol.

Sheen said he stopped all drugs and alcohol. If he's truly stopped everything, maybe that's why he's gone WAY off the deep end. Those drugs coulda been all that's kept his weak grasp on this side of socially acceptable, or at least kept him slightly under the radar. Dude needs help ASAP before he strokes out or gets himself bashed to pieces by offending the someone more far gone than himself.
I agree with you that it is no doubt the drugs that he has used over the years and his withdrawal from using these drugs has him on a downward spiral. However, it is difficult to tell if his current behavior is due to the drugs alone, and that the drugs were his way of "trying" to mask his mental illness. I know that his father, and the rest of their family have tried to intervene on numerous occasions, but to no avail. Charlie needs to stop surrounding himself with enablers, and his "so called" friends need to be upfront with him and tell him that he needs serious help. Just being nice and telling him what you think Charlie wants to hear is not being a true friend. The bottom line is, no one can help Charlie, unless he is willing to get the help he so desperately needs. I wish him all the best.
He appears to be bi-polar and the illegal drugs and alcohol are no longer effectively medicating the symptoms. His father is likely bi-polar (it runs in familes) and his father has probably been taking his medicine and psychotherapy to control the disease since he himself was young. You don't cure this, only control it. Charlie has been manic for a week or so. It all fits.
I'm bipolar and he is in a manic phase. He doen't need ridicul now. He needs undertanding and professional help. Granted he did some things I know he will regret later -- a trait of BP, but if he wants to get well, then the best we can do--those that still care like me, is support him and wish him well. Not beat him down or make a joke out of what he did in the past. Peace to all. After all, the only thing really normal is a setting on your washing machine!
You cannot be cured from addiction...you can only manage it. Addiction will continue to try to sneak back in and tell you "you can handle it, go ahead"...unless you have a support system. I know first hand...my husband is a recovering alcoholic - he has 113 days sober. He has surrendered to the fact that he has an addiction and has embraced the program he is in. Only in the ability to share with other addicts and the support of a organized program will Charlie ever succeed because you are an addict for life. I wish him the best.
It may have not been the drugs and alcohol but rather mental illness. He may be clean now and that is why his symptoms are back. A large percentage od persons self-medicate with drugs and alcohol to alleviate symptoms of mental illness. He presents as manic and I have a feeling he will crash and get extremely depressed and most likely suicidal or...if he remains this manic, he may die for instance by jumping out of a window thinking he could fly. He needs help ASAP. The best scenario would be that he gets arrested and court mandated to treatment.
