Chris Brown Reflects on Rihanna 'Mishap': 'I'm in a Positive Place' To say that Chris Brown's considerable talent has been overshadowed by his personal life in recent years is an understatement -- at the very least.

The 21-year-old singer, whose popularity took a nosedive following his assault on former girlfriend Rihanna, opened up to Page Six about the "mishap" and where his career is headed.

Brown, whose latest album, 'F.A.M.E.,' stands for 'Forgiving All My Enemies,' says of the period following his arrest, "The last two years, everybody dissed me, but my fans were so dedicated."

While he's grateful for the people who stuck by him, Brown says he acutely felt the sting of those who turned their backs. "[People] don't want to get involved with it because they don't want their name attached to anything negative. Unknowingly, they kind of show their true colors when they do that," he says.
