Report: Christina Aguilera 'Numbing Herself With Booze and Food'

Since divorcing Jordan Bratman last fall, Christina Aguilera has been in a spiral that those close to her are calling out of control.

Following her national anthem flub at the Super Bowl, she took a tumble at the Grammys, was caught having sex with boyfriend Matthew Rutler in a bathroom during a family event, sued for copyright infringement and most recently, was arrested for public drunkenness.

And while the struggling singer hasn't addressed her issues publicly, sources close to Aguilera are speaking out.

In the March 21 issue of Star, an insider is claiming that Aguilera has hit rock bottom. "Christina's lost her confidence since she split from Jordan. She gets terribly sad, and that's when all the awful memories come flooding back and she ends up numbing herself with booze and food."

Aguilera acknowledged the split from Bratman has been difficult, but those close to her say her new man Matthew Rutler -- who was arrested for DUI during the singer's public intoxication incident -- is part of the problem. Calling him an "enabler," they say Aguilera is turning to alcohol more frequently as she battles her career and personal issues.

"Everyone is worried sick," says a concerned friend. "She needs to get help before something even more serious happens."

...seems only fair that aguilera numbs herself with booze in order to avoid having to deal with her growing list of setbacks...the rest of us have to numb ourselves with booze whenever she sings

Having a child is a blessing, and she is a good mother. Just because she goes out doesn't mean she is not a good mother...

This woman is just getting older....she looks in the mirror and see a wrinkle face, she takes off her clothes and see stretch marks from having a baby. Her body is changing and she does not know how to handle it....but escape with booze.

this is just sad. It seems that Christina is having a type of meltdown like Britney had a few years ago...and damn she is looking chunky lately..

It is not unusual for pple to turn to booze and/or food when they are heartbroken. Even if it was a mutual agreement to divorce it is still painful and not an easy decision.
I wish her well and hope that she can get back on track soon.
I love her voice and she is too talented to waste that

Aguilera's chances of getting her head screwed on straight again are much better than Lindsay Lohan or Charlie Sheen. She's more professional than they are. She hasn't done anything that's a real career killer, like get hooked on hard drugs or acted violently in public. Maybe her mom can help her.

Wow. She used to be SO beautiful, and now she kinda looks like a troll......or evern worse........SNOOKI. If you put a bad spray tan on her in that picture up there, she'd look like snooki. There's a difference between putting on a few pounds and being chunky..... and she's definitely crossed the border. If she doesn't snap back soon it'll be very hard for her to get her figure back.

She should try something new like the Zumba craze, that should help her get her mind out of depression as well as keep the weight down.
