While some are aghast that Suri Cruise is allowed to have her pacifier at age 5, we asked our Facebook fans and found out it wasn't as uncommon as you might think. Read on to see stories from parents about their kids' pacifier habits.Lisa Matican Rosengarten: My son had it until 5. I told him that children less fortunate need his pacifier and can't afford their own. He gladly gave it up but at bedtime he would seem to go through "withdrawals". It didn't last long :)
Megan Aubin: Oh yes, both of my girls did. One, it took a fancy Barbie to get her to give it up. The other daughter we basically had to throw them all out. We tried the garbage but she just took them out again!!!

hey, it's a lot better for her teeth than a lollipop or other candy!

That's RETARDED! A 5 year old with a pacifier - might as well give her bottle and baby crib back too!

Nannies don't care as much as the real parents...

Just look at who her parents are; it's lucky she's not sucking her thumb at age 20. Just give her a cigarette already.

MY CHILDREN WERE HAPPY CHILDREN, THEY DID NOT SUCK THEIR THUMB OR USE ONE OF THOSE PACIFIERS, MIKE WAS RIGHT, THEY MUST BE LAZY PARENTS. IF THEY USE THE PACIFIER FOR A LONG TIME THEN THEY WILL HAVE TROUBLE WITH THEIR TEETH.

She is probably not in school, she isn't 5 yet, she needs to get rid of that binky, too old. My daughter had a binky til 1 and she got mad at it one day and threw it in the trash.

Five yrs old and still on a pacifier. No Way!!! That's way too old.I really don't understand how people can give their kids pacifiers in the first place.

Tell me why this is anyone's business except her mother and father's?

She's too old unless they're willing to let her suffer extensive dental work later.

talking about CHILD ABUSE!!!!!!!!!! This looks awful, maybe like she isn't all there, mentally. She is WAY TOO OLD, for a pacifier. And I THOUGHT her parents had some sense. That's what I get for thinking!! This is truly a form a CHILD ABUSE!!!

She also still drinks from a baby bottle. I saw some photos of her, Katie and the "ba-ba" last week and wondered why Popeater didn't publish them. It's quite disconcerting to see a little girl sucking on her paci while rockin' the Jimmy Choo heels.

Oral Fixation @ Age 5... yikes.

Cruz couple - instead of allowing your child to look ridiculous and feeding your need to keep her a 'baby' why not just have another baby or buy one and put that stupid pacifier where it belongs - a baby's mouth. What is she like 12 now? Please. Maybe that is that scientology crap that keeps it in her too old mouth.

still? way to old for that, or its it just a nice way for the nanny to shut her up

Both of my kids were off of pacifiers by age 2. Having pacifiers after that age is ridiclous. It messes up there teeth and speech pattern when they start talking. You can't understand them when they have it in there mouth

If she is five then she is of school age and it is not appropriate for a child to carry a pacifier, let a lone use one in that environment -- kids put things in their mouths, hence germs will spread. getting over a pacifier is not about forcing a child to grow up too fast, really she has servants and can afford to buy whatever her little heart desires, she has her own sense of style and her own personality, lets face it she's a lot more grown than some of us.

I think it's horrible to let any child suck on one of those things it's just Nasty ! I never ever gave my son one to begin with or allowed him to suck his thumb or his fingers ! Nasty Nasty !

They should get rid of it when they can speak. What happens is they start speaking with it in their mouth. Its not going to kill her to take it away. You just have to be creative about it. Mine was the paci fairy came to take it to littler children that would need it. Worked like a charm.

if she keeps up with the pacifier she will get bucked teeth, stop using it,,
