Larry King Tweaks Anderson Cooper: 'Let's See What She's Up To'

Hair jokes were in no short supply at last night's Comedy Central roast of Donald Trump, but the quip that had the audience shocked was when CNN icon Larry King made fun of his former co-worker Anderson Cooper's sexuality.

Pretending he was still hosting his now-defunct talk show, King took calls from viewers throughout the country and then tossed to Anderson, whose '360' followed his 'Live' show every night for years.

"Anderson Cooper is coming up next. Let's see what SHE'S up to," Larry said to the packed house.

Anderson, who never talks about his sexuality in public, has been dealing with rumors about his love life ever since he become CNN's biggest star, but never before has a member of the CNN family poked fun at him in such a public way.

Even his good friend Kathy Griffin, who loves to tell tales about celebrities, refused to go there when she recently spoke with Howard Stern when he asked if the silver fox was gay.

"Larry meant no harm," a friend of the newsman tells me. "He was just having a little fun. Larry has huge respect for Anderson and couldn't care less who he chooses to sleep with."

Let's hope Anderson is laughing too. The roast airs March 15 on Comedy Central.

Larry King, that was so mean-Anderson Cooper's life is his own..Clean your own door stop before looking at other's. I used to watch Fox up until lately, I still do, but I really like Anderson and what he does is his own business...Larry, YOU are not funny...You meant it..but their is always an excuse..grow up.

Larry, would you just go away please? Andersons life style is no ones business. He has always been low key and professional.
Who the hell cares about anything else. I respect the man whatever his orientation.

This is NO ONE"S business who Anderson is with. He does his job good and his personal life is his own business. I hate how everyone wants to label AC, gosh, just leave him alone. I don't want to know anyway, either way.

You speak like you've been indoctrinated into the liberal lies that someone can't disagree with gay relationships, homosexuality & be intelligent. Nice to swallow the smear campaign. You're over 50, as you say- you should know better. I bet you really haven't investigated the research of those who don;'t agree with you. Maybe you have, but typically people with views like yours don't seem to really know the best of the 'other side'.
Instead of smearing the conservative side, maybe you should be intelligent in your logical thinking processes & figure out people can disagree with you, and still be intelligent.
Oh, and if you were as intelligent as you think you are, you could figure out that King doesn't have to disagree with Cooper's sexuality orientation to be foolish in a choice of a joke at a ROAST!
You'd rather just repeat the propagandistic talking points of the liberal gay orthodoxy.
You are another example of how rotten the liberal propaganda is- smear, demonize to marginalize, taunt & insult to shut thinking down, or dwarf it.

I am very surprised at Larry. Everyone KNOWS AC is gay, but to call him a "she" is inappropriate. Larry probably realized this afterwards.

Very poor judgment on King's part and an indicator that he is senile and no longer capable of using good sense while on the air. He's also disgusting to listen to droaning on and on and so unattractive. And 8 wives? Perhaps he should have tried a guy!

Well, if Anderson is not ashamed of his sexuality, then Larry shouldn't be ashamed for what he said. He wasn't being mean spirited, and Anderson has taken Ben to some pretty major events the past two weekends, he isn't hiding his sexuality.

Anderson has a good sense of humor and seemed to like Larry so probably won't get bent out of shape, but a straight man calling a gay man a woman because of his sexuality isn't cool. Equating gay males with women is inaccurate and would be offensive to many proud gay men.
