Larry King Tweaks Anderson Cooper: 'Let's See What She's Up To'

Hair jokes were in no short supply at last night's Comedy Central roast of Donald Trump, but the quip that had the audience shocked was when CNN icon Larry King made fun of his former co-worker Anderson Cooper's sexuality.

Pretending he was still hosting his now-defunct talk show, King took calls from viewers throughout the country and then tossed to Anderson, whose '360' followed his 'Live' show every night for years.

"Anderson Cooper is coming up next. Let's see what SHE'S up to," Larry said to the packed house.

Anderson, who never talks about his sexuality in public, has been dealing with rumors about his love life ever since he become CNN's biggest star, but never before has a member of the CNN family poked fun at him in such a public way.

Even his good friend Kathy Griffin, who loves to tell tales about celebrities, refused to go there when she recently spoke with Howard Stern when he asked if the silver fox was gay.

"Larry meant no harm," a friend of the newsman tells me. "He was just having a little fun. Larry has huge respect for Anderson and couldn't care less who he chooses to sleep with."

Let's hope Anderson is laughing too. The roast airs March 15 on Comedy Central.

I think it is hilarious that all the "non-judgemental/can't we all just git along?" fairies are out in full-force,waving their wants and foaming at the mouth about "old","Has-been",and even making fun of King's fashion sense,and demanding the whole time some sort of unique "right" to not be criticized for being homosexuals while dumping all over King for being old.

Not much hypocrisy there,is it?

Larry should mind his own business. Anderson is a wonderful human being and thats all that matters. Larry should worry about his own reputation. My opinion is he is a dirty old man.

That was very RUDE of Larry King to say anything about Anderson, It is not anyones business what anyone does in there private life. I have a male friend I hang out with all the time, no girlfriend either. That's enough for people to judge me? I think not. Some of you need to wake up and smell the tea leaves. By the way I love Andersons style of reporting that all that should matter

Gay or Not, I love me some Anderson Cooper. Larry is a hater. Why? Anderson looks better than him and his show is still on the air. Awww, poor Larry.

It was in extremely bad taste for Larry King to take such a "poke" at Anderson Cooper, regardless of whether or not Mr. Cooper is homosexual or "out-of-the-closet". I'm very disappointed in Mr. King.

My opion of Larry King is what a rude man he is. Never thinking Anderson C. may have feeling and he seems like a nice
man who would hurt anyone. Really it is no ones business whether he is or isn't. We already know and as long as he does not flaunt it and act like a normal person then why insult his feeling.
How would Larry K. and others feel if that were his child(s) and people displayed rudeness no matter what the article about them would be. As far a Kathy Griffin she is a creep and should never be seen on television __ she give out insult to too many people.
P.S. THAT IS NOT TEASING THAT IS LARRY'S EXCUSE NOT TO GET INTO TROUBLE OR SUED!!!!!!

At least Larry King is no longer on the airwaves of CNN. Shame on him for his inappropriate "joke". He should take a look at his own life before making jokes about someone else's and should NOT be allowed to get away with it. Everyone at CNN and at the roast should call or tell him face to face how much this was in bad humor.

Whats wrong with you people. He said "she". Everybody has to be so politically correct. Number one, we don't even no if he is gay. Number two, Are you so thin skinned that if some one calls you she that your going to have a tissy fit. I,m sure his friends say worse things then that. Just because your gay doesn't mean we have to take special precautions not to hurt your feelings. So on that note I am going to have a Banana Daiquiri and go watch Glee.

Larry King "retired" because of low ratings and a snoozefest of a show. Anderson Cooper has a terrific show, a terrific sense of humor on his New Year show with Kathy Griffin, appears to be an all around great guy while Larry King seems to be missing a personality. Is he so desperate for attention that he has to take cheap shots at a CNN working reporter just because he couldn't keep his job there?
