Has Matt Damon Lost His Passion for President Obama?

Hearing
Matt Damon say he was not a fan of President Barack Obama last week on CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight' may have come as a surprise to those who have followed the popular actor's liberal politics for the past few years.
In fact, Damon spent many days campaigning around the country for Obama when he was a presidential candidate in 2008. Together with his friend
Ben Affleck, Damon did talk shows, hosted events, gave interviews and allowed the Democratic Party to get as much mileage out of him as possible within the constraints of his busy work schedule.
When he canvassed the nation for Obama, Damon was impressed with the candidate's idealism and ambition to make significant change in areas like poverty, health care and education.
On those issues, Damon now believes President Obama has compromised too much.
He told Morgan, "Obama has misinterpreted his mandate and doubled down on a lot of things." The actor has also criticized the president on not finding an effective reform for Wall Street practices, and he is still waiting to hear the hows and whys of the troop buildup in Afghanistan.
Even though Damon still believes that the President is "brilliant" and a "deep thinker," he is especially upset over the state of world hunger.
"In his State of the Union speech, he didn't even say the word 'poverty,'" Damon, a spokesman for hunger relief organization Feeding America, told Morgan. "You've got millions of people languishing in it."
Now shooting the Cameron Crow film 'We Bought A Zoo,' where he plays a zookeeper, Damon would make an excellent political candidate himself if he weren't such a popular actor. He has said he is not interested in running for office, yet between his diversified acting roles, education and political activism, he could be a great asset should he ever reconsider.
Damon founded H20 African Foundation, the charity division of Running the Sahara, which merged with WaterPartners in 2009. He supports the ONE Campaign to fight AIDS and poverty in Third World countries, and he is an ambassador for OneXOne, a non-profit foundation that improves the lives of kids around the world.
But will he support President Obama for re-election in 2012? Stay tuned.

After reading the lead in title to the article I thought maybe Damon had awakened from his dream about Obama, but I was mistaken. He apparently just wishes Obama had taken this country further down the road of destruction. And who says he would be a great candidate?

BOO-HOO. I care SOOOOO much
Damon is just another dilusional liberal who, as stated before, would take this country deeper into the tank if he ever had political power. He needs to stay where he is at - in Hollywood la-la land and stay OUT of politics. He has no business being there. It would be nice if'd he quit opening his rhetoric in public.
President Obama is trying to bring our country back from the devastation caused by Dubya and the Republicants! The financial destruction began before President Obama took office, which conveniently is something you right wingers tend to forget! Go watch Faux news because obviously the truth is unrecognizable to you!
These hollywood idiots have so much money all they have to do is run around the country sticking their noses in things that they have not idea about. He is stupid and not worth even posting about. So...I am done
Matt should stick with acting!!!!!
wait till 2012
revenge is best served cold
the party of no will no longer exist along with the tea sippers
I feel that too may people believed in President Obama for the right reasons. They, who believed in him were hasty into thinking that he was elected fairly. the only reason he was put in office was to embellish the idea that black folk are not capable and that is why the right wing has made such an advance in politics, they are the very people who wanted him their to destroy him.
he is a politician...they say anything to get the vote

madeline-If you have ever seen the movie Team America. They portray Damon as exactly what you say. An actor who joins political causes, just because. He parrots others in Hollywood. Basically, Team America shows him and other Hollywood clones as the idiots they are.
Matt Damon is a liberal jerk! Keep your mouth shut punk! I hate loud mouth celebs who push their views upon everyone.

Matt sounds like a fair-weather friend to me. I, too have been disappointed with some things the President has said and done, however, I'm still rooting for him. He has done more good things, so far, than George Bush did his entire 2nd term and maybe 1st term too. Things would've been a lot better if he had had the backing of the democrats during his first two years.
