Sarah Palin Is Lucky To Have Julianne Moore Portray Her In New HBO Film

It could have been worse. Obvious choice,
Tina Fey? Or, hey, lefty activist Susan Sarandon?
Instead, beautiful actress
Julianne Moore has been selected to play one-time Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO film 'Game Change.' This is the screen adaptation of the best-selling 2008 tell-all tome written by accomplished political reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.
"Julianne Moore is a fine actress and was a good choice for this role," a Hollywood film executive tells
PopEater. "She delves into her diverse roles and does her homework. She even wore glasses in grade school!"
A classy liberal who voted for President Obama and isn't afraid to speak her mind, Moore, 50, is a true professional and takes her film roles very seriously.
Palin, the bespectacled former governor of Alaska who became John McCain's vice presidential running mate during the last election, isn't so sure how the film will turn out because the book portrayed her as an empty-headed disaster and revealed damaging secrets from the campaign trail.
When FOX News' Sean Hannity asked Palin how she felt about the film, she said, "I think I'll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie."
No matter how Moore feels personally about Palin, she should be able to play the feisty politician with aplomb.
In fact, the actress has had some experience with Palin's pro-gun and geography issues. In 1992, Moore had a supporting role in the comedy 'The Gun in Betty's Lou's Handbag.' Then, seven years later, she played a grieving mother in 'A Map of the World,' where she had plenty of time to see Russia from her house.
And Moore has even lived in Alaska -- Juneau, to be exact -- where she attended school from 1971-72.
Unlike Palin, the Boston University graduate is a pro-choice advocate, but Moore does share the politician's love for having children, revealing having her own has been the "most wonderful experience" of her life.
As for physically becoming an on-screen Sarah Palin for the duration of 'Game Change's' filming, Moore admits that when acting she becomes a different person, but it gets heady when she is limited by her physiognomy.
"You desperately try to look different, but it doesn't always work," she has said. "There are some things that you can change, but unfortunately you're always left with the same face."

@garjaya, does walmart still sell vhs? i guess if the videotapes are made in china they probably do. (BTW, i DO still have some vhs, until "wizard of speed and time" and "twice upon a time" get the dvd treatment anyway!)
In my opinion, it's a little early to be doing a movie about Ms. Palin. There's more negative things out there about her (the interviews with Couric, the unflattering mimics from Tina Fey. . . etc.) than there are positive. If and when (heaven forbid) she wins a bid for presidency, then there can be a movie made about her.

Julianne Moore has played her fair share of Lesbians and a mother having sex with her own son, so pulling off an empty headed self absorbed Train Wreck presidential wanna be should be a piece of blubber. The real question is why is anyone making a movie about Palin unless it is to alert the dumbed down 49% of the American Public that she is a menace to society and a danger to the political decision process.

Are they really that bankrupt on ideas that the only thing
left to make a movie about is Sarah Palin. Is this going to
be a realistic movie or is it going to be a movie about someone's
perception of who Sarah Palin is?I don't believe that anyone(especially in the entertainment business)really knows who this woman is.

What, are you her sister or something?
As the article clearly explains, the movie will be based on the book written by two of her former staff persons. It is my understanding that the book does expose her as an empty-headed narcicist who has been manipulating and exploiting her empty-headed followers.
She may actually give the impression that Palin has a brain.

Lara, you don't need to be a liberal to recognize that Palin is a media-hungry, egotistical moron. Any good conservative knows she's clueless too, and cringes at the thought of her running for President. Me? I happen to be neither. I choose to think for myself.
How about you? Do you have a brain?
As tremendous an actress as Julianne Moore is, she, nor anyone else, could possibly ever convince anyone that Palin has a brain.
First of all, I cannot believe that a movie is being made about this moronic, vindicative witch. I hope it shows the real Palin and not some glorified version.
