Celebrity Rebounds: The Good, the Bad and the Downright Shocking

It seems like we just rang in 2011, and already it is shaping up to be the year of celebrity splitsville. From
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz and
Justin Timberlake and
Jessica Biel to
Scarlett Johansson and
Ryan Reynolds and
Kelsey and
Camille Grammer, couples beware, there's something in the Hollywood water.
But these celebs seem to be following a new adage: When you fall out of bounds, go for the rebound shot. And rebound they do, with someone old, someone's brother, someone random or someone younger.
From rebounds that scream foul play to the dawning of a new cougar era, we're counting down the good, the bad and the ugly of celebrity rebounds that stuck and sucked.
Check out which celebs made the list after the jump!
Rebounds That Stuck:
We all raised a collective eyebrow when America's sweetheart
Sandra Bullock tied the knot with tattooed chop-shopper
Jesse James. But no one (besides Michelle "Bombshell" McGee) could have predicted that James would turn out to be an adulterous Hitler aficionado. Who was the lucky girl to scoop up Sandra's damaged goods?
Kat Von D. But this is one rebound couple that has had some major staying power. James and Von D are engaged to be married.
They may be the original pair that proved there can be bliss after an extremely public breakup. Such was the case when America's favorite couple,
Brad Pitt and
Jennifer Aniston, after five years of marriage, filed for divorce in 2005. But as the divorce was underway, so was Pitt's fascination with his 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' co-star, the sexy, gun-wielding
Angelina Jolie. Six years and six kids later, maybe Aniston should have been a little more inquisitive when it came to Brad's late nights on-set.
On what has arguably been the most dramatic 'Real Housewives' franchise, the dissolution of Kelsey and Camille Grammer's marriage came not only as a shock to viewers but to Camille herself. But Kelsey didn't waste any time ditching his Beverly Hills baby mama for a younger bombshell, 24-year-old Kayte Walsh. Walsh is now Grammer's fourth wife over the past 29 years.
Upgrades and Downgrades:
The voluptuous red carpet stunner and the goofball (who isn't hard on the eyes) had the kind of romance fit for film. But not every story has a happy ending, as was the case for Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds. The two married in 2008 before calling it quits two years later. Although unlucky in love, that isn't stopping Johansson from getting back into the dating game, with two-time Oscar winner
Sean Penn -- talk about an A-list upgrade.
They married young but it seemed like Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz had it all figured out when they welcomed their son, Bronx. Not so. The two filed for divorce in February 2011 and Ashlee already has a new man, rocker Craig Owens. Owens is the founder of a band called D.R.U.G.S. and faced his own drug problems after a Xanax overdose in 2008. Sounds like Ash should have stuck with her original baby daddy.
Rebounds with a Side of Young Meat:
After her split from husband of eight years Guy Ritchie,
Madonna was on the prowl for something young and hot -- and she found it in Brazilian model Jesus Luz. (And we don't blame her.) The caliente Brazilian model is 28 years Her Madgesty's junior! It wasn't meant to be, however, and the two called it quits after discovering the barriers of their age difference.
Eva Longoria and her basketballer husband Tony Parker were all smiles during their four-year marriage, but in 2010 rumors surrounding Parker's infidelity began to swirl and the pair were officially divorced the following year. But whether she was looking for a shoulder to cry or some lovin', Longoria found it in
Penelope Cruz's younger brother, Eduardo Cruz, who is 10 years her junior.

It was an odd pairing to say the least, so we can't say were shocked when newlyweds Fred Armisen and
Elisabeth Moss called if off after just a year of marriage. Armisen found refuge from the divorce in his work -- or rather his co-worker. The actor, 44, is rumored to be dating his 23-year-old 'SNL' co-star, Abby Elliott.

I disagree that Sean Penn is an upgrade over Ryan Reynolds. Sure, he's an Oscar winner and all that, but he's also a hot-tempered tabloid-target. He may be a wonderful person, but Ryan is also very talented and funny. On a shallower note, he's gorgeous!

I'm sure every person in Hollywood could be linked to each other through sex partners. It's rather gross.
And on another note, Ashlee Simpson is hideous.
Perhaps the reference was meant to be Scarlett as the upgrade...? That might make more sense. But I do agree on RR,,.he is definitely hot!
Who in their right mind could call Sean an upgrade from Ryan. He a good actor and all, but eww. He is much to old for her also.
It saddens me to know that all these tales are of others pain. It sure says something not so nice about the culture of today. I remember what it did to Diana.

With the exception of Brangelina and Madonna (whose rebound didn't last) all of these couples have been or rumor to have been seeing each other for under a year. Give it another year or two then ask Jessie James and Kat who ever she is how things are going before you officially call their relationship a success.

Oh pleazze! the only reason Jesse & KVDouche have lasted is because he has to prove to people that he is cured of his addiction and can be with only one woman. Otherwise he is back in the sh*t-hole with people. And even though they play it out that they dont care what people think, he and KVD want him to get back in people's good graces. That is why she encouraged him to write his tell-all book. It's not good for her that everyone thinks he is a Hitler fan while she is claiming her undying love and support for him. Especially since she is of German descend.

Who cares one iota about Jesse James and his tattooed hussy of a girl friend Kat VonD (for disgusting)works out. These are two totally horrid people who deserve no publicity at all. They can rot in wherever and that would make me happy.

I would hardly call Sean Penn an upgrade, more a downgrade. The man is never smiling, never happy, always dour, and such an ego. Ryan Reynolds is a far better choice.

Sean Penn an "A list upgrade"! What a laugh! More like a A list douche bag.

Like most people, I suspect, I asked myself "Who is that guy in the pic, second from the left?" Yes, it does say in the article (I still don't recognize him, though).

"It seems like we just rang in 2011, and already it is shaping up to be the year of celebrity splitsville."
What a stupid statement. Can anyone name a year that hasn't been a year of celebrity splitsville?
As for Jessie James and his girlfriend, why are they still in the news? His only claim to fame is that he is the ex-husband of a famous actress. Otherwise, he is just a guy who owns a business and is now hanging out with a skanky woman.

Lefty loon Sean Pean an upgrade?! Maybe if you were casting a dramatic movie, but in bedroom...upgrade from Ryan Reynolds? Really? Not even close.

RU kidding?????? Sean Penn is an upgrade? By who's standards?
Just shows how lefty Hollywood is.

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks Scarlett is SOOOOOOO downgrading from Ryan to Sean...As much as I admire SP as an artist, this liaison is downright creepy!
