Is Katie Holmes the Mystery Brunette in New Viral Ad?

If you are the type to buy into viral marketing plays, perhaps you might care to hazard a guess as to the identity of the actress in this short clip.

Elle magazine creative director and sometime reality TV star Joe Zee promises to reveal all on March 22, including exactly what the "What's in the Bag?" campaign is meant to be advertising.

Beyond knowing that the product is in the fashion and/or beauty sector, StyleList was strongly encouraged by an insider to believe that the mystery brunette is Katie Holmes.

We were told the person is "a famous actress who the tabloids are always saying is about to leave her partner, playing Joan Hudson, a famous actress who is leaving her partner." Watch the ad after the jump.

Notably, Miss Holmes is not one of the top three guesses on the campaign's Facebook page, which offers "most popular" choices of Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie or Winona Ryder.

But! We can tell you that the bag in the film is a Valextra Babila Tote, and that if you enter the Facebook contest you might win it, or $20,000 cash.

Is Katie Holmes considered a "famous actress?" Since when?

Katie Holmes used to be a vivacious young actress who sparkled and after marrying Tom Cruise she turned into a Nicole Kidman who stood quietly with the Madonna look and saying nothing. Its scary. What happens to them? So the Scientologists suck the originality out of them and put an android in their place? Just wonderin!

Mrs. Cruise #3 is so, so many things; child bride, 'E' meter-addicted, blank slate, pretty, mother and beard. I have as yet to see anything that would make me include 'actress' in that list.

I don't think KH has ever looked happy since the day she married that troll. And in many pictures she looks drugged. This girl is never going to happy as long as she stays with him, but I bet he has threatened her about taking away Suri if she ever says or does anything, so she's trapped. To her friends: keep watch over her. She is in deep emotional distress and she is helpless to do anything about it. Tom Cruise is a deeply disturbed man who seems to have no problem being cruel and threatening to his wife and daughter.

I would like to maybe see Katie Holmes, Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Drew Barrymore, and/or any of them playing in a movie together.

Famous actress... or Stepford Wife? I agree with Nancy... most pictures of Katy show her looking like she in on meds... or has had the life sucked out of her by wuss boy.

Why do you think he went after someone her age and who was such a "fan" of his? Because she was young and he could control her... just like scientology does to his small mind.
