'Bachelor' Brad and Emily: It's Over Already?

EXCLUSIVE: Moments after Brad Womack proposed to Emily Maynard on last night's 'Bachelor' finale, millions of fans were shocked to learn that the couple have already gone through a breakup, and while Brad told viewers he was ready for marriage, sources tell me the couple has since broken up for good.

"Emily is so insecure, she just isn't cut out for all the fame and attention her relationship is under," a show insider tells me. "The six weeks of shooting the show in paradise was easy, away from prying eyes and photographers, but since they both returned to their normal lives things have been a disaster."

During the finale, Emily, mom to 5-year-old daughter Ricki, accepted Brad's proposal, beating out fellow contestant Chantal O'Brien for Womack's heart. The actual proposal was a tender, romantic moment of television.

"You're so much more to me than a leap of faith," he said. "You're the one. You're my once in a lifetime. I'm asking you to give me your forever."

Later, Emily admitted having trouble watching Brad get intimate with different ladies every Monday night. She also admitted that Brad's temper in real life also took her by surprise.

Despite their problems, however, Brad has been trying valiantly to make the relationship work and publicly, he's now saying the two are trying to rebound after a bumpy start to the relationship.

"At long last, Emily and I can be open to the world and each other about our relationship," they said in joint statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday. "Though we are madly in love, it has been a bumpy couple of months for us and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship."

But an in-the-know network producer tells me their problems run deep and go beyond the normal pangs of a distressed couple.

"Emily is not able to forgive Brad for what she considers cheating week-after-week with other girls," my source says. "It's always hard sending the couple back into reality after they have been living in paradise, but no one in the history of the show has had as hard a time adjusting as Emily."

Like many fans, my source "would love to say they are going to make it, but they don't. After we taped the 'After the Rose,' it was clear to everyone that this one was not going to work."

Too bad, we were rooting for you.

Well Ted, if you don't watch, why are you even on this site. Most guys that don't watch wouldn't waste their time.

And he picked Emily because he loved her and she's the one who couldn't handle that he was with Chantel. She should know that's how it works. I think she was the right choice and Brad was in it for real this time.

Emily knew what she was getting into when the signed onto the show. She knows what happens before you get to the final moment when one is picked. Too bad she did this to Brad who was really looking for true love this time. It's totally impossible to find love on these kind of shows.

Marla, How true. However, since Brad said early on He knew he was in love with Emily and didn't curtail his intimate activities, just goes to emphasis his boy versus man title. "Hey, even though I know your the one, why don't I make sure by being with other women. Your not worth enough to make that sacrifice. So I'm gonna tell each girl the same thing, I see what I can get. Its my right, its a show, you can't be mad!" Anyway, mother son relationships don't make for great marriages!

I only watch episodes of these shows sporadically - when I'm bored or when they claim something big is going to happen. I can't figure out why this show is on the air season after season after season when only one or two of these matches ever worked. Trista is the only success I can really recall. The others were disasters mostly for the women because the men get such big heads and make out with everyone.

Trista and Ryan are a my favorite success story. Married 7 years already 2 or 3 kids. But, there are 4-5 couples I do believe and 3 couples were there last night. So I look at it as entertainment, suspense, drama and sometimes success! This time it was the girl that turned out to be a snake!

You have a short memory, Jason and Molly have been married over a year now. Ally and Ed are going to be married soon. They were all on the "After The Rose" show.

OK so I forgot about Jason and Molly but his first pick was Melissa and that did end in disaster didn't it? On national TV no less. Yes - I do stand corrected, there were 2 others.

Did anyone else notice that Emily wore a bracelet with her deceased fiance's initials on it during every show? She has too much baggage and is obviously still in love with her dead fiance. Plus, it was obvious that she would never move to Austin.... Brad owns businesses there...She should have been honest with him from the start.

Those were her daughter's initials.

Also, it was confirmed that her house in Charlotte is for sale... so if she isn't moving to Austin, she's sure moving somewhere.

i did see the bracelet on emily's arm from her late husband. i don't think brad is the man for emily ,emily sounds like she'd put her foot down if brad didn't do whatever emily says and the lady didn't even offer brad a drink of anything to calm his nerves down i really felt for brad i ceied along w/ him & w/ chantel.

Emily, Please move on I feel Brad is not the one for you or your daughter. You and your daughter I wish the best to you both. But move on the older your daughter gets the harder it will be for her to accept any man into your lives.I don't want to disk Brad but I feel your not a match do you really???? Best of Luck!!!
