Songwriter Claude Kelly Helps Britney Burn It Up With 'Gasoline,' Says Christina 'Will Be Fine'

When the track listing for
Britney Spears' upcoming album, 'Femme Fatale,' was released earlier this month, fans got more insight into the
hotly anticipated record. Hotshot songwriter Claude Kelly is one of the names attached to the March 29 project, and according to the in-demand talent, who wrote Spears' 2008 comeback hit 'Circus,' fans can expect an even more upbeat and sexy Spears.
"I wrote this song called 'Gasoline' for the new album," Kelly tells
PopEater of the Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco-produced track. "Britney went in and knocked it out in one session. I'm really happy with the record because she sounds happy. The melody is slick and very fun. I love Britney's attitude, and there's a real sex appeal to 'Gasoline.' It's one of those sexy pop records that Britney's great at doing."
Kelly, who has hammered out hits for
Kelly Clarkson ('My Life Would Suck Without You'),
Miley Cyrus ('Party in the U.S.A.') and Bruno Mars ('Grenade'), says he was also taken aback by her throwback approach to the track. "When I heard 'Gasoline,' Britney really surprised me because it sounds like she is having a good time," he says of the blond pop bombshell, who has publicly overcome a great deal of personal turmoil.
"She sounded clean and energetic. She was able to do those signature ad libs that makes it a classic Britney Spears record," he says. "It's reminiscent of the fun feel of her early albums. When you close your eyes you envision her dancing along to the song."
Kelly is also hoping to get back into the studio soon with longtime collaborator
Christina Aguilera, who was recently in the news after being detained for
public intoxication. Kelly believes, however, all the talk of a troubled Xtina heading for a rehab stint has been over-the-top.
"I've spoken to her," he says of the powerful vocalist. "She's about to do this big singing show called 'The Voice.' I think the media has been making a bigger deal out of things. Christina's a fighter. She has had a few stumbles, but everybody does. It's just that she's in the public eye. But she usually takes those types of situations and turns them into huge musical moments. I'm working with her again, and I believe she's going to turn all of this into a record that the world will love. I have no doubt she will be fine."

I just wrote a new song called COLORS that's inspired by
C. Aguliera's house. I'll record it if anyone wants to hear it....Alfred-

Sure..go on and do it.
WOW how the mighty have fallen. Usually you get on a talent show as a judge if you are over the hill and on the decline in your career. Much like JLo who cannot sing and has done nothing substantial for quite a while. I see C Aguilera is taking the lazy way out and just going to get paid to hang out on a talent show. Guess it is too much work for her to actually go and create something and produce a hit record again. Seem lately she has been too busy partying anyhow. I'm sure being a talent judge will give her the time she needs for her social life.
