Sandra Bullock and Demi Lovato Donate $1 Million Each to Japan Disaster Relief

Actresses
Sandra Bullock and
Demi Lovato have donated $1 million each to the Japanese disaster relief, according to several reports.
CNN is reporting that Bullock sent the donation to the American Red Cross to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. The contribution was made by 'The Blind Side' actress on behalf of her family.
The Red Cross reports that this was the largest celebrity donation to date, although the charity may have received larger contributions that were kept confidential at the donors' request.
CeleBuzz says that Lovato also donated $1 million to the relief efforts in Japan, and she is encouraging her fans to donate as well.
Lovato was spotted in Los Angeles holding the Japanese flag with the words "Please Help" written across it, trying to drum up monetary support for the relief efforts.
Other celebrities have joined the relief effort as well. The
Daily Mail is reporting that the Black Eyed Peas are dedicating their latest video to the victims of the Japanese Disaster.
The Peas shot the video for the song 'Just Can't Get Enough' in Japan just a week before the disaster hit.
The video will now start with the message, "This video was filmed in Japan one week before the earthquake and tsunami."
And the message continues to say, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you."
Lady Gaga was one of the first celebrities to lend support to the Japanese relief effort. The singer
designed a white and red
wristband for fans to purchase in her official online store, and she said that all sales proceeds will benefit victims of the disaster.
Gaga also revealed that the $5 price tag can be voluntarily increased by any buyers wishing to boost their monetary donations.
The
Red Cross urges: "Text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific."

Kudos to Sandy and Demi. THIS, like Gaga, the Jolie-Pitts and Sean Penn is what celebrity should be used for...meanwhile Katie and Tom allow their child to munch on Penis Gummies and Charlie what's his name rants...

This is the sort of news which should be the headliner for Pop Eater today .... not stupid penis gummi bears in the hands of a spoiled child of fading celebrity "stars".
THIS is what we need to hear. Two lovely young actresses supporting the quake victims in Japan with truly generous gifts. Not the usual paltry ten or twenty thousand publicity stunt. Some real and substantial cash.
When we start to give attention to the good deeds, more people will be encourged to follow suit. Show the generous and admirable and people will respond. Ditch Sheen and Suri and go for the real news.
I can only hope there are so few posts here because the article was filed in the wee hours of the morning. Hopefully more people will read and respond positively ...

Good for both of them.
I do remember Sandra Bullock being the first one to step up for Katrina with a million dollar donation too.

If it weren't for people like Sandra and Brad Pitt, etc... there would have been NO help for the Katrina victims. Our government blew it big time. Watch Washington send millions to Japan though. They take better care of people in other countries suffering from disasters than they do their own citizens.
PLLLLLLEASE Sandy makes 20 mil a pic. She donate lots more!
Good for them, good women with big hearts. There are plenty of other celebs who could donate that kind of money too.

I agree w/ Stu. If Demi donated 1 mil then Sandra could send more.
I think it's wonderful when individuals willingly send money to countries in need. I know that Japan is really suffering right now. I would rather send food and clothing donations though. According to what I've heard, Japan is the 3rd wealthiest country on the planet and doesn't have the national debt the US has.

Lovato is just a nutjob trying to buy her way back in to the limelight.

Yea and if she didn't donate any of her money at all you'd call her spoiled.
This is very, very kind....However, Japan is the third richest nation in the world and is perfectly able to care for it's citizen's without charity...Point of fact they probably find it insulting..

I heard the same thing too. However I really doubt they would turn down humanitarian help like medicine, bottled water, etc... Sending cash to their government may insult them and it may not get to those most in need.
Sandra does wonderful things all the time.
Every time I think shes out done herself, she will do something else so sweet. Hollywooders could, should, learn form her.

Goody for them. How much did they donate to Christchurch, New Zealand?

Sandra Bullock woke up crying last night because she misses Jesse. She longs for her "bad boy" who would "mess with her" and make her feel dirty. Yea, your "America's Sweeheart" likes it tattooed and dirty.

She personifies elegance, ability, and certainly genorosity., and her acting is superb. I applaud her and wish her all the very, very, best.

to the person that spoke about the monies in Japan............shame on you. their suffering is just as acute if they have money or are poor. No one asks, nor even deserves this horrible happening.

That money could have saved a lot of homeowners from this foreclosure crisis right here on our own soil. Japan has lots of money to help their own, I can't believe we fall for these donations all the time, when our own neighbors are in need. That money could have helped a lot of people stay in their homes this year! How about helping those that helped you rise to fame!
