Lady Gaga's style is certainly one-of-a-kind, but her songs may not be.Gaga's most recent single, 'Born This Way,' drew criticism when it was first released for sounding strikingly similar to Madonna's 'Express Yourself.' Now the pop star is coming under fire again for her sound-alike song.
Sources allege that Gaga's song sounds so much like a song by nine-member South Korean girl group SNSD that it may have been plagiarized. Fans of the Seoul-based band are claiming that Gaga ripped off major sections of 'Be Happy,' a song from SNSD's 2010 album 'Oh!'

Lady Gaga didn't steal that song. Lady Gaga, honestly has had no part in this song other than singing it and making it famous. People write songs for her. People can't keep on saying " Lady Gaga stole this song" because she didn't, her helpers did. It is a total rip off of SNSD (So Nyuh Shi Dae/Girls Generation) "Be Happy" and of Madonna " Express Your Self" but that's not Lady Gaga's fault, I doubt that she even knows who SNSD is.
Hope this helped anyone who was wondering and I'm not trying to make anyone mad who thinks she stole it. I'm just stating my opinion.
And I know it's a copy of " Be Happy " but why does it really matter, this happens to songs all the time, and usually no one ever cares. And there is a possibility that Lady Gaga's producers asked SNSD if they could borrow the song. Once again not trying to make any one mad, I'm just throwing out possibility's.
The songs may be similar, but they are different. I think Born This Ways rocks. I've never seen Lady GaGa before the Grammy's and now I can't quit watching it! Her performance (and her dance crew) is fabulous!!! Keep it up Lady GaGa; you are doing what others wish they could do! I'm your fan....and a whole bunch of other people age 50-60's I know just because of Born This Way!

You can deny it. I'm so disappointed to Lady Gaga. I'm sure she's admired by Korean pop songs. I've heard the K-pop is so popular now in the world and have a lot of good pop-songs. Maybe some are better than American's music.

It looks to me that most of the people claiming she ripped off this Korean group already hated Gaga to begin with. You could give them a song that sounds nothing alike and they would still claim it to be copied. I do see the similarities between Born This Way and Express Yourself, but I in no way feel that Gaga copied it. She is a fan of Madonna and was inspired by her, so it's to be expected that one of her songs would sound similar. I doubt she has even heard of this Korean group. They just want to cash in on the song like other unknowns did with Viva La Vida. Plus their only saying that they ripped of Madona by saying Gaga ripped off them. I say respect Gaga for daring to write her own stuff and being herself. Something 90% of pop artists could learn to do.

I agree with Jennifer. The music sounds similar but not the lyrics. They don't sound the same but similar yes. But a lot of pop artist get inspiration from the Japanese.

They sound the same. I wouldn't be surprised if Gaga listened to K-Pop for inspirations. A lot of songwriters do that. However, this one seems so obvious.
