Miley Cyrus' Cover of 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' to Be Released as Single

Much to the delight of everyone who loves hearing teenage girls cover '80s power ballads, Miley Cyrus' highly anticipated cover of Poison's 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' may yet see the light of day.

The release of the single was delayed after tabloid reports surfaced that Poison frontman Bret Michaels was having an affair with Miley's mother, Tish, allegedly a contributing factor in her split from husband Billy Ray Cyrus.

Both Michaels and Tish Cyrus have vehemently denied the allegations, which is further supported by Billy Ray's recent decision to call off the couple's divorce.

Michaels confirmed to E! Online that the single will likely come out later this year, now that the rumors have subsided. "The record label was supposed have to this huge humongous release of 'Every Rose,'" said Michaels. "It was going to be Miley's next-step song, but because of that, they stepped back."

"It really bummed me out," says Michaels regarding the record company's initial decision to postpone the release.

Despite the setback, Michaels is sure that his song will be a success for the young star. "I think this is the song that will cross her over. If it happens, it's going to be a big hit."

Not very nice thing to say about someone. Especially when you have no clue what you speak of. Famous father or not Miley has made her way and she would not be singing if she did not have a voice. Bet ya can't even sing squat yourself so stop going on about Miley and how she is gonna ruin all the songs she does and this one as well. Get over yourself and your hatered for Miely will ya. Grow up. She may not be my favorite singer as I am old enough to be her mom, but she can sing and that you cannot deny.

It was very kareoke. Miley Cyrus can carry a tune and she is a trained vocalist. The problem with her is that the tone of her voice is too immature for the songs she chooses. She may be a technician, but the quality of her voice is just average. Every Rose is too low for her and she missed a lot of notes in the lower register. She needs to take it up perhaps 2 steps to make any real impact. It's a great song that was sung in an average way.

For one, the song was already done last year and Miley didn't ruin anything. And Bret likes Miley and thinks she is a great artist. He helped Miley on this song and it was with his blessing.

KISS did an album back in ’94 where they didn’t sing one song. A bunch of groups and solo artists who wanted to record, or already had recorded their music. They thought it was flattering that so many artists cited them as an influence, yet went on to develop their own style. Garth Brooks, Kravitz, Jackyl, Smashing Pumpkins, like two other country artists other than Garth. They recorded the music in their style. I’ll bet Poison loves it that somebody is recording a song of theirs 23-25 years later. She’s not trying to be an ‘80s rocker. She’s recording a song she likes, and is not trying to imitate the original.

I thought she did pretty well on that song with Brett. Stop stepping on Miley..she can sing. Unlike a LOT OF US! She can do whaever she wants..she shall find her place don't ya worry.

Not a "fan" but I have been watching and listening (from an safe distance!) to Miley for these past few years. There is no denying the child has some serious chops on her. I expected her to rock this song. She so didn't. Bad morning maybe? Nervous? Not quite her style? Trying to make a square peg....etc.
I do wish her all the luck in the world however. She has talent and she has the drive to make things happen in her life. That's a good thing, remember?!!!

I remember when the song first came out, WTF is Bret thinking!!! Miley could never sing that song, not even in the shower!!! its a shame he allowed her to damage the song, she needs to sing country tunes & stop trying to be so many wannabe's, she needs therapy ASAP SHE SUCKS SO MUCH!! bring Hannah back.
