Friend: Denise Richards 'Doing Great' in Spite of Sheen

As her ex-husband Charlie Sheen continues his "winning" streak, Denise Richards is living her life as usual and handling the drama well, according to her close friend Alison Sweeney.

The 'Biggest Loser' host and 'Days of Our Lives' actress dished to Us Weekly about how her friend is doing these days.

"She's doing great," Sweeney said. "She's awesome and she has her head on straight. She's got a wonderful heart."

Sheen made threatening remarks toward Richards when she refused to let him see their daughters, Sam, 7, and Lola, 5, and recently lost temporary custody of his young sons with estranged wife Brooke Mueller. All the drama with her ex-husband, however, isn't getting Richards down.

"Denise is such a ray of sunshine and she just manages to live her life and hold her head high. I'm so impressed by her," Sweeney said of her friend.

And when the going gets tough, Richards just calls on her friends for support. Richards and Sweeney recently started a "supper club" of sorts for Hollywood moms, which includes Ali Landry, Candace Cameron, Brooke Burke and Tori Spelling.

"Denise will email me and be like, 'I really need to see everybody,'' Sweeney said. "Ali makes the whole thing look beautiful and Tori [Spelling] comes up with themes. It's this bonding experience where we pour out our hearts to each other."

Friends close to Richards understand the drama with Sheen, as it's something she's had to deal with for years.

"This is not a new situation," Richards told they ladies of 'The View' last month of the situation with Sheen. "There are times where his life is more colorful than others, more public than others, and as the kids get older, it's a difficult thing."

Most people could be happy and well adjusted, if they were receiving [many] thousands of dollars every month from Charlie Sheen too.

@SEE: Uh-huh. And how do you explain Charlie Sheen NOT being happy and well adjusted despite having the money? Money doesn't buy happiness. I'm not saying money is the root of all evil, I know people who are very content and rich, and people who are very content and poor. Likewise, I know some people who are very miserable and rich, likewise with poor. But money has nothing to do with if she's happy or not. Being rich does remove a lot of responbility, but it also creates responbility too. As we see with Charlie Sheen. :P

It's really sad that Charlie Sheen can get away with beating his wife and threatening her, but everyone had some nerve bashing Chris Brown like there was no tomorrow! How dare y'all? I am sick and tired of the racist media and celebrity followers! How is it that people feel sorry for Sheen but loved trying to ruin Chris’ career? Charlie has a long history of abusing drugs, beating his wife, and also being verbally abusive towards her yet, no one cares! Chris Brown never hit a woman before his incident, never got drunk, never did drunks, but yet, y’all act like him “beating” Rihanna was the worst thing in the world! Everyone makes mistakes and because it was only one incident and nobody knows what Rihanna did to tick him off, people should’ve forgave or minded their own business! This is such a sad and cruel world we live in! Chris hasn't gotten in trouble since then and still gets bashed while Charlie Sheen still has his show airing!

Please--she is a disgusting stalker--she was stalking him even when he was married to someone else. She is going to bleed him for every penny and every bit of publicity she can. She can't get any publicity without Charlie which is why she is always there. No one cares about her--she can't sing, dance, act, nothing. The only thing she has going for her is the fact that she was once married to Charlie. And all you jerks, critizing him, you are all just jealous because he is living the life you wish you could. I realize he is self-destructing but what a way to go. Love you Charlie.

Denise is a lovely and gentle lady who has a history with Sheen, he is the father of her 2 kids plus she has had an up and down relationship with the guy for many years. They are drama plus, that happens when people are in love with dysfunctional partners. It's time for her to move on and stop putting her kids in the spot light over a father flipping out ..... BTW, Denise, if your reading this, would you please dye your hair back to your natural brunette, makes you look really hotter if that is possible :) .
