Kate Walsh: 'I Feel Like a Loser' For Not Having Kids

Kate Walsh may have fame and fortune, but the actress says she feels "like a loser" for not having a family.

The 'Grey's Anatomy' star opened up to More magazine about work, children and how she's dealt with the pain of a public divorce.

The actress, who ended her relationship with movie executive Alex Young in 2008 after just 15 months of marriage, says of her split, "[It was] the worst thing ever. It was so public, and yet it was so legal-embroiled. You couldn't talk about anything."

While Walsh has found love again with boyfriend Neil Andrea, she admits to being acutely aware of her ticking biological clock.

"I feel like a loser," says the 43-year-old star of being childless.

"I would definitely love to be a parent. But I definitely don't think I want to do it on my own ... I thought I'd be married and have three or four kids. I always knew I wanted to be an actress, but I think I always wanted a quote-unquote normal life because I had a very untraditional upbringing."

Despite wanting a family to call her own, Walsh admits that with age has come maturity and increased patience.

"I've always had the courage thing down, but then I had to develop the rest," she says. "I've learned to seek other people's counsel more. That's a good part of growing up."

More women should feel like oprah =NO KIDS!!!
If parents had to raise/home school their little brats their would be less rouches in the world. & the defict/tax problems would be solved.

Why should someone so fabulous feel like a loser for not meeting certain sociocultural mores? Mind you, I never heard a MAN talk that way.

So have a child now! But not to NOT be a loser - to give love to another human being for the rest of your life - without getting any credit.

Wake up woman, most of the current parents are having second thoughts about having had these brats; you are probably just talking stuff because when you can pack up your personals and go when you want to, where you want to, without trying to get a sitter will help you wakeup. You are the fortunate one, maybe you don't want children, it's not illegal you know.

People often start regretting whatever they haven't done in life that they wanted to do, when they hit their 40's and 50's. You start to realize that there might be certain things you planned to do someday that may not happen. If she really wants kids, adopt. She would have the means to raise a child by herself.
