Tom Hanks and Wife Suing Former Insurance Broker
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are suing their former insurance agency on charges of embezzlement.
TMZ reports that Hanks and Wilson claimed that they previously worked with the J.B. Goldman Insurance Agency for more than 20 years and used the company to procure various policies.
They switched brokers last month, and the new broker alerted the couple that they were being grossly overcharged for various policies and were insured multiple times for the same things.
In the lawsuit, Hanks and Wilson claim that J.B. Goldman has overcharged the couple and engaged in a "predatory embezzlement scheme" that cost them hundreds of thousands, if not, millions of dollars.
The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.
Recently, Hanks has
signed on to play Capt. Richard Phillips in Sony's adaptation of 'A Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea,' Phillips' memoir of his harrowing experience with Somali pirates in 2009.

so i suppose you would just walk away
Your such a dope. Do you actually think Tom Hanks ever has to work again? Go soak your head.
It always amazes me that seemingly intelligent, rich actors have no sense. Do they not READ their policies? Do they not know what they are being charged? Do they not "shop around" for prices? Apparently not. If you stay on top of things, nobody has a chance to cheat you.

Please - Guessing 8 out of 10 Americans don't read their policies, they send bundles of paperwork and most all in small font. Kudos to you if yours has been read cover to cover, although I bet not.
Go get'm Tom...."There's no Crying in Insurance!!!"

What "lie"?
Boy, you guys are pretty harsh. We (my family) aren't starving, knock on wood, but we certainly don't have the kind of money that would attract embezzlers. The Hanks are sooooooooo rich that I'm sure a few hundred thousand over a span of a lot of years just slipped their notice the same way one thousand dollars over twenty years might slip ours. Good for them for going after them. It bugs the heck out of me when these guys get away with it which is all too often.

Tom Hanks is a cheap bastard who has people (like contractors) doing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of work and then sues them because he refuses to pay after the work is done. It seems to be a pattern with him. I hope he had dental insurance to get the splinters out of his gums for all the scenery he chews. Academy Award for playing a moron. What achievement was that. He wasn't acting!

Good for Tom and Rita, glad they are suing and hope they recover everything swindled from them!
