Actress T.V. Carpio Injured in 'Spider-Man' Musical

Yet another performer has been
injured on the set of ill-fated Broadway musical 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.'
T.V. Carpio, who plays villainess Arachne in the musical, suffered unspecified injuries during a preview of the show on March 16.
Carpio, who stars in this month's 'Limitless' alongside
Bradley Cooper, was reportedly injured during a confrontation between her character and Peter Parker (played at that performance by cast member Reeve Carney's alternate, Matthew James Thomas).
Carpio is the fifth actor to be injured on the set of the $70 million musical.
In October, actor Kevin Aubin was
injured after being flung to the ground while performing an aerial act, breaking both his wrists.
A stuntman, who would not reveal his name to the press, claimed he had
suffered two broken feet while performing the same stunt a month earlier.
Even prior to Carpio's injury, her role has been plagued with problems: She assumed the role of Arachne when actress Natalie Mendoza quit after suffering a
concussion during the show's first preview.
Just over a week before Mendoza left the show on Dec. 28,
Christopher Tierney, a stuntman, suffered a fractured skull, fractured vertebrae and broken ribs after falling during one of the show's matinees.
The show has been postponed a number of times due to the rash of on-set accidents, in addition to the cancellation of a handful of shows in order to implement stricter safety precautions and rewrites to the script.
While previews for the musical, the brainchild of U2 members Bono and The Edge and famed director Julie Taymor, began in November 2010, the show is currently scheduled to begin its official
run on June 14.
Carpio will return to the show following a two-week recovery period.

How long is it going to take for these guys to realize God doesn't want them to go on with this show? Haha

Divine intervention is in the works here for sure!
Can you imagine the insurance costs for this musical? I bet it goes up every time another actor gets hurt. This show is a hazard, and haphazardly written and directed. No amateur or professional group will ever be able to do it, so it will die after its Broadway run; that is, if any actor wants to audition for it and put their lives in jeopardy. Those poor investors. They'll never make any of their money back. The League should close it down immediately before someone dies, as this ridiculous musical surely will.

Saw the play in January, what a piece of crap it was. Can not believe what we paid for the tickets. The applause between acts we at best a polite applause and the only play I have ever been to that there was not a standing ovation at the end. Shut it down before anybody else gets hurt because it will close faster than it took to get the show opened.

I've seen the show and it's horrible. I feel bad these actors keep getting injured and it's all for nothing. There is no story and I hate to say that the music isn't even very good. We were so disappointed. This is a terrible case of someone's artistic vision getting so clouded, she's risking others' health. Cancel this show now before anyone else gets hurt and more money is wasted.

Another injured star,...When are the people, who so badly want to start this show June 14 going to realize this play is dangerous,...Does another castmember have to get hurt or worse killed before they realize its dangerous,....
I say close it before it starts,...If there are all this injuries during rehearsals,...They will have hell on their hands, when the show starts,...

Well, look at the bright side. When it does go into normal run (if it goes into a normal run), the Spiderman musical can lay claim to being "The most previewed show on Broadway".

One would think that there are so many mishaps with this show. It should be closed down. Unless some of these actors love the risk of getting hurt or worse. But then again some people love all this high tech baloney that goes on in these type of shows. Whatever happened to Broadway shows that were more simplistic without all the high tech crap and flashing lights and smoke.
