With 36.5 million views of her 'Friday' video on YouTube as of this writing, Rebecca Black's reign as the current queen of Internet buzz is going strong. All the attention got her a spot on 'The Tonight Show,' where she performed the song and even got to chat with Jay Leno.Sure, her success comes on the heels of a ditty many consider the worst song ever written. But as they say in show business, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
When Leno asked her if she'd seen some of the online parodies of her song, she said, "I think they can either be really hilarious and make me laugh like 'til I cry, but others are really lame."

you spelled singing wrong give her a break if your trying to text maybe you should get the lessons.
Sweetheart, they meant lip syncing...they weren't trying to say "singing." I hate it when people correct others when they themselves are wrong....
Hilarious..the words started before she even put the mic up to her mouth!

Everyone on youtube is flipping out over this song!!! She's only 13.. Cut her a break.....

She is a cute kid but I think she sound very nasal. Maybe she needs some lessons to fix that. I wish her luck.

the only reason i watched this was to see what she sounded like live. THAT did not help. this talentless wonder needs to finish high school and do something else.

her voice is nasally and yes it was lip syncing but all she needs is a few lessons and she will be good to go. and age really doesnt mean anything in terms of talent.

Cute kid. There is something so magnetic about that song and her upbeat personality. If I was in her shoes and 13 I would not have acted as mature as she seems to be, and definantly wouldn't have donated the money, lol.

so what, she's a pretty cute and mature girl. She seems down to earth and not like other 13 year olds. Even if her song's lyrics were stupid, it's not like SHE wrote them anyway. PLUS, she even said they they gave her two songs, one was more about guys and she didn't want that because its pretty stupid for a young girl to be singing about that. So i kind of appreciate her for choosing the right song and being smart about that. She is no Miley Cyrus, and i think before we start hating her, we should remember that.

Who couldn't love this girl?! She has such a great personality, is so easy going and confident. Amazing poise, confidence, and humility for a 13 year old. Heck, I'm nowhere near that confident in my 40s. More power to her. Isn't this what we want for girls?
The lyrics are intentionally simple, and tongue in cheek. Anyone who takes them seriously is hilarious: they don't get that it's tongue in cheek!
I think her singing style is intentional, that nasal sound. That is the style used by lots of singers in the "alternative" genre.
More power to you, Rebecca, I think you're terrific, obviously millions of others agree because they keep listening to your YouTube and can't stop. You should be very proud of yourself, keep up with your singing lessons, and maybe, for the many who are too dense to realize that the song's lyrics are intentionally tongue in cheek, (aka Our House, or Manic Monday, neither of which get bashed for insipid lyrics....Our house, in the middle of our street. Our house, it is where we used to sleep) choose some deeper lyrics, or write your own, aka Pink's "Perfect", so that tongue-in-cheek humor doesn't go over the heads of millions of twits who don't get it.
Keep going, you're great.

Well said. Majority of these people are adults acting like kids. No wonder why our kids are screwed up.
Thanks, Mechie. I couldn't agree with you more.
Btw, there is a Facebook page, Defend Rebecca Black.
