Britney Spears Joins Charity Effort for Japan Earthquake Relief
Britney Spears is joining the effort to help those affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan two weeks ago. The 'Femme Fatale' is auctioning off a pair of VIP passes to her live show in San Francisco on March 27.
The concert is actually a free event for '
Good Morning America' that was initially supposed to be held at the outdoor Castro Theater. But due to the potential for bad weather, the show will now take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The show will still be free, but its new location indoors means tickets will be required for entrance into the limited capacity venue. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:30AM EST on the 'GMA'
website.
It is not known how many tickets will be available, which makes the auction to see Britney perform from VIP seats even more special.
Wild 94.9 is auctioning off the passes, with the highest bidder winning a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a Britney Spears show up close and personal.
The Salvation Army will receive 100 percent of the value of the highest bid to help rebuild Japan in the wake of the devastation. The news of Britney Spears' auction comes on the heels of
Gwen Stefani's announcement that she is
donating $1 million to Save the Children's relief efforts to help Japanese youth during this crisis. The auction ends tonight at midnight; enter for your chance to win

Again. Charity begins at home. Our government has sent over millions of our tax dollare so I figure I did my part. How about being generous right here in the USA. There are plenty of hungry, sick, homeless men, women & children right here. Our economy sucks & people are in desperate need. If all the millionaires in Hollywood donated a couple of million we'd be sitting pretty.

Good for you Britney. I mean that and there are also so many living on the streets of Chicago that can use your help also. I have a plan but no funds to pursue it. It gives them a bit of dignity instead of sleeping under a viaduct somewhere. Shelter from the wind and a plac to call there own. A simple hermitage life the Monks use for their housing on about 50 acres of land somewhere with gardens to grow their own food. Just an idea. if you can help email me. Thanks and God bless

Big deal!! Britney Spears auctions off 2 tickets?? That's nothing out of HER pocket!! Surely she could make a sizable donation out of her own bank account using the money she's earned with her questionable talents!!

I totally agree! In the grand scheme of things, the proceeds from two tickets is nothing! An ego trip maybe ...
If she REALLY wanted to help she'd dig into her own pockets!
Britney who?
