Chris Brown stopped by BET's '106 and Park' Wednesday to apologize for his violent outburst on the 'Good Morning America' set Tuesday morning following an interview.
"First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, anybody who was offended or really disappointed in my actions because I was disappointed in the way I acted," he said of the incident at ABC.
Brown allegedly lost his temper after an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts didn't go as he expected. Following the interview, in which Roberts brought up a restraining order issued by ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown reportedly broke a window in the studio and ripped off his shirt.
"A lot of people don't know what went down," he continued. "When I do shows or when I do interviews, we send out like a talking point sheet. And if the network or whoever isn't compliant with what we want to do so that we can equally accomplish a goal, we usually kind of back out."
Brown has been making the press rounds to promote his new album, 'F.A.M.E.,' which was released this week.
"Everything that was sent to me was about the album. That's what we were talking about," he said of the interview. "So when the interview proceeded, I was thrown off. I felt like, 'OK, they told us this to get us on the show and exploit me.'"
"I took it very, very hard," he said of his reaction. "I kept my composure throughout the whole interview ... And when I got back I just let off steam in the back. I didn't physically hurt anyone. I just wanted to release the anger inside me. I got very emotional." He added his frustration came from all the hard work he put into his album.
According to a statement released by ABC News, Brown's claim that there were approved topics before the interview isn't quite accurate.
"Chris Brown was invited on 'Good Morning America' to perform and to be interviewed. There were no talking points offered," ABC said in the statement.
No charges will be filed against Brown. He is still schedule to perform next week on 'Dancing With the Stars' on ABC, and has since been invited back on 'Good Morning America.'

Chris Brown is definitely a tool, but clearly not the sharpest one in the shed. What about something as simple (and non-destructive) as deep breathing to "release the anger"? Probably wouldn't seem cool enough to Chris's limited mental capacity.
I live in Richmond, Va close to where Chris grew up and I think he was discovered at a gas station. Some big wheel producer was driving through and had to stop and get gas. He was probably rough before they discovered him.
DEFINITELY HAS ANGER ISSUES. STILL NEEDS TO WORK ON THEM. HE SHOULD NOT BE INVITED TO DANCING WITH THE STARS. HEAR WHAT WENDY WILLIAMS HAS TO SAY. SHE IS RIGHT!!
It's odd, a spokeswoman for ABC this morning on GMA said Mr. Brown was told his past would be brought up in the interview, yet ABC's official statement said no talking points were offered. Not that there is any justification for his behavior, he obviously needs anger management help, but ABC itself seems to be confused about what actually happened.
@Rod I agree! I think Chris learned a valuable lesson regarding interviews and will handle it better next time around. I'm going to ignore all of these other racist hateful idiots.
Plain and Simple. GROW UP!! This behavior is stupid and we don't tolerate our kids acting like this. CB is too full of himself and he is wrong when he thinks the world revolves around him. Get over it and control your emotions. What a baby!!
stop making excuses for this guy. If any of us acted out like this we would be in jail. The spoiled brat needs to grow up or get out of the public eye.
this guy is a big loser.. anyone that listens to him just supports that kind of behavior.. I cannot believe ABC will let him on Dancing with the Stars..

Right now you sound like a one!!! It's a word created and used by ignorant people. Everytime you use it, think about how ignorant you sound.(smiling)
It's a word created by people who can see the truth. You are not making me feel bad. I see it all over the city, in every city.
