Chris Brown on Outburst: 'I Wanted to Release the Anger'

Chris Brown stopped by BET's '106 and Park' Wednesday to apologize for his violent outburst on the 'Good Morning America' set Tuesday morning following an interview.

"First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, anybody who was offended or really disappointed in my actions because I was disappointed in the way I acted," he said of the incident at ABC.

Brown allegedly lost his temper after an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts didn't go as he expected. Following the interview, in which Roberts brought up a restraining order issued by ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown reportedly broke a window in the studio and ripped off his shirt.

"A lot of people don't know what went down," he continued. "When I do shows or when I do interviews, we send out like a talking point sheet. And if the network or whoever isn't compliant with what we want to do so that we can equally accomplish a goal, we usually kind of back out."

Brown has been making the press rounds to promote his new album, 'F.A.M.E.,' which was released this week.

"Everything that was sent to me was about the album. That's what we were talking about," he said of the interview. "So when the interview proceeded, I was thrown off. I felt like, 'OK, they told us this to get us on the show and exploit me.'"

"I took it very, very hard," he said of his reaction. "I kept my composure throughout the whole interview ... And when I got back I just let off steam in the back. I didn't physically hurt anyone. I just wanted to release the anger inside me. I got very emotional." He added his frustration came from all the hard work he put into his album.

According to a statement released by ABC News, Brown's claim that there were approved topics before the interview isn't quite accurate.

"Chris Brown was invited on 'Good Morning America' to perform and to be interviewed. There were no talking points offered," ABC said in the statement.

No charges will be filed against Brown. He is still schedule to perform next week on 'Dancing With the Stars' on ABC, and has since been invited back on 'Good Morning America.'

Network didn't press charges? Wimps! Interviewer was rude and a liar. It's all about media and money. Chris Brown should not be in the public eye if he can't handle the pressure. As far as the violence: not okay-EVER. Fine to be angry but you always have a choice in how you react and cope. He needs to hook up with Franti and do some yoga. Life changing.

I for one will NOT be watching Chris Brown on DWTS. This guy has not learned to control his anger. Why anyone would want to see him in ANYTHING is beyond me. Unless you like women beaters who can't control their anger.

Chris Brown has a serious rage issue, which is deep-seeded. He has had several little brushes of temper tantrums, both on radio interviews and now TV. He is explosive, and cannot control his emotions. People pay for things they do. He put on such a sweet "I am healed" act on probation. Well, he's not done acting out.

Here is the thing Chris, if you didn't beat the heck out of woman and say you got help, then turn around and got angry on twitter I think it was, now 2 year's later smashing a window. DUDE YOU ARE NOT HELPED, an apology can only go so far, then brother you are crying wolf. You have a lot of anger in you, you need long time help. You don't just smash a window to release anger, mature and helped people don't do that.

Can we leave Chris alone...I wont watch Good Morning America after what they started YES them he said he didnt want to discuss yet they think they can do what they want.... He said they were there to promote the record, but that stupid GOOF asked again about his personal life. She's such a loser!!! (duhh what did I do wrong she saying???)

I hope his record makes it big leave him alone!!!!! Enough already, PERIOD!

Nope...yet the media pushes people and he is the entertainer and should be there to promote whatever he wants. No excuses for his anger but he should not have to talk about it anymore. He did his time....move on.

YOu must be very young or very stupid. Shows don't invite you on to only discuss what you want to discuss. Its their show and if you want the publicity, you live by their rules. I saw the show. She simply asked him a couple of questions. Most of the interview was about his music. His childish, temper tantrums show a real anger problem. wake up or grow up, whatever!
