Larry King on Elizabeth Taylor: She Was the Last of the Great Movie Stars

As a guest on Fox News for the first time since leaving CNN, former talk show host Larry King talked about Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who tragically passed away of congestive heart failure on Wednesday at the age of 79.

King was a guest on 'Hannity' where host Sean Hannity first thanked the legendary interviewer for his impact on the industry. After some pleasant banter, Hannity asked King about Taylor, who King had previously interviewed many times and had been friends with.

King said, "She [Taylor] was special. It's pouring rain here in Southern California; it's almost like the skies are weeping."

He went on to say that she was an extraordinary lady who had a major career starting at age 14 and had been in the public "conscious" for 65 years.

"She was a true movie star; in fact, she was the last great movie star. There has been never anyone quiet like her from the way she looked with those incredible eyes to the way her life went with pain and joy," he said.

When Hannity asked what made Taylor special, King replied, "She didn't have a line cut between brain and mouth. You asked her a question; she answered it. She was not fearful of what public opinion thought of her. She fought the battle for AIDS before Rock Hudson had AIDS ... She stood up for Michael Jackson in his worst days. It didn't matter if you agreed with her or not, it was her ability to be so forceful for so many things and loyalty ... If she was your friend, Sean, she was your friend. You can't buy loyalty."

King also mentioned that Taylor was a very positive person.

When Hannity asked King about his last show ever on 'Larry King Live,' King mentioned that it wasn't easy. "It was a tough show to do." He also reminded Hannity that one day he too would have to do the same.

When asked what he missed the most, King replied he missed not being there on the scene right now. He missed not being able to report on the Japan tragedy or the situation in Libya, but as a trade-off, he has more time with his family, and he coaches his son's Little League team. He also talked about doing a comedy tour starting in May.

Liz career was a bust after the 70's. I mean General Hospital, Flinstones....lol!
Meryl,Jessica Lange will never drop to those levels!

The 2 of them could have started a football team w/ the # of ex's they have.
& to hear the stories of liz being beaten by most of those guys=disturbing!

I think LARRY KING is beginning to show his age....I guess GENE HACKMAN, CLINT EASTWOOD,ROBERT DUVAL, AL PACINO, ANTHONY HOPKINS, MERYL STREEP, ROBERT DINERO AND ETC....ARE ALL LOUSY....THE DAY HE INTERVIEWED JERRY SEINFELD AND WAS INFERRING THAT HIS SHOW WAS ACTUALLY "CANCELLED" FURTHER PROVED IT !

Two peas in a pod? Look at the relationship disasters these two have created. Taylor wrecked more then one marriage and was a walking relationship nightmare. After the 60's her career was a mess...can anyone name a movie other then the Flintstones she did?

and that's just a few from the 30's and 40's.
