Robert Pattinson Calls 'Breaking Dawn' a Horror Movie

'The Twilight Saga' may be coming to a close, but interviews with
Robert Pattinson aren't quite devoid of the vampire series just yet.
Speaking to
Entertainment Weekly about 'Breaking Dawn' -- the upcoming two-part finale to 'Twilight' -- Pattinson says, "I just can't see how it's going to be PG-13 ... unless they cut everything out."
'Breaking Dawn' doesn't exactly sound like kids-type fare -- we're about to see beds obliterated during passionate nights, a young girl go through nine months of pregnancy in the blink of an eye and the most messed-up delivery scene ever crafted: teeth through placenta.
Seriously.
Pattinson explains: "There's some interesting and weird stuff going on -- really very, very,
very strange. It's great. For a big mainstream movie, it's the most obscure story line and really outside the box. It's a horror movie." This is topped by other
recent statements where Pattinson talked about the upcoming placenta scene: "Yeah, I've done it. I've chewed it, spat it out!"
But before you expect to see R-Pattz's face bloodied and an umbilical cord hanging down from his teeth with a baby dangling on the end, both
screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and
producer Wyck Godfrey have explained that the gore (as well as the sex) will be primarily off-screen, with Bella "looking through the haze."
Let's also remember all the big horror-film scary talk that circled 'Eclipse.' Summit is determined to offer up a teen-friendly movie -- even if some of this stuff could come together for one wildly messed-up film of sexual perversion. Should make for a tasty director's cut, though.

afetr reading "Breaking Dawn" I was concerned about letting my 13 year old see this but now I am down right worried that it will be much to graphic for her ( I am VERY careful in the movies she is allowed to see at her age) curious as to what other moms think.

The real horror is that people actually like this crap.

It's not a horror movie, it's a horrible movie. There's a big difference.
I know! Twilight is probably the worst written series ever, but people are just so obsessed with it! I wonder how these people would react if they picked up an Anne Rice book.
Team Lestat!
You know, just because you don't like something, that doesn't make it crap. It just means that you personally do not like it. The reason that there are so many different types of books, movies, TV and music is because everyone is different, and therefore they like different things. Wouldn't the world be a very boring place if every person liked all the exact same things as you? The things that in your arrogance YOU judge as being good? I personally prefer to just like what I like and not put others down for enjoying whatever they like. I am 29, have a master's degree, and am extremely well read. I read A LOT. I like a lot of different things, including the Twilight Saga. I have read some Ann Rice too. I dredged my way all the way through Interview With The Vampire and read half of The Vampire LeStat, but I couldn't read anymore. I found it to be very slow and boring and just not enjoyable to read. But that doesn't mean I think it is crap! Obviously lots of people like Ann Rice, and I am just fine with that! Grow up people!
Why did you not find Anne Rice's books enjoyable? I know! Because it didn't have a character that you can pretend to be as you were reading it! It didn't have a wuss as the protagonist that you could droll over! It didn't have any of that crappy romance either. I hate to be so mean, but Twilight IS crap. Let's not forget that it encourages abusive relationships and encourages women to be submissive. Stephanie Meyer also "can't write worth a darn." That last part is straight from Stephen King's mouth.
Ann Rice sucks too and you have too much time on your hands to write a book about this article.
I hope that continues 'The Twilight Saga' will not change a good impression on her. Some of the horrific scenes give the film a special luxury. Waiting for release.

The hard part is that it could've been a great series of movies, but the screenwriter and actors just didn't do it justice. I'm not a hater - I love the books and I support the movies, but I'm truly hoping for a remake a few years down the road. It could've been an amazing story but the essence of it just didn't translate this first time around.

Why didn´t you mention the director? Ah, i suppose you are one of those Pattinson haters. I wonder how can any actor act Edward Cullen, a melancholic, old-fashioned and suffering vampire...The fact is Robert Pattinson did justice to the role, and the rest of the cast, in my opinion. Why don´t you wait for "Breaking Dawn" to be released first before you talk about a remake? Well, no matter how this saga be presented in the movie, the dislike is already there. Prejudice blinds...and it is harder to break than an atom, according to Albert Einstein...
BB, I'm not a Rob hater in any way - I watch everything he's in. :) And I do give each movie a chance independent of the previous ones. I didn't mention director because there have been 3 so far and each one did certain things wonderfully and failed in other ways - in my very humble opinion. There are some great things about the movies, but they haven't lived up to my expectations is all. I know this sounds odd, but when I watch The Vampire Diaries, I think that Julie Plec & Kevin Williamson should've been hired to write the Twilight scripts. They are amazing writers and whoever hired the TVD cast should have been doing the Twilight casting. :)
i always thought this series shouldnt be for kids. im 23 years old and im tired of everyone giving the movie crap because all of a sudden little kids like it. ive read the books BEFORE the movies came out and yea should not be for kids. it should have been for teens and up but now because of all this so many people hate it!

I actually hated it from the beginning. That's probably because I'm not into romance stories with no substance. I find Edward to be undesirable, because he is a control freak and SPARKLES! If I'm going to read about vampires I want them to be dark and I want them to have flaws. I don't want to read about Mr. Perfect, because vampires aren't by any means perfect. I also have a problem with Bella not being able to do anything without Edward, and she's so weak!

These movies are so lame and boring. The books are better. They could have been good movies with a cast that can actually act.I will be glad when it's all over.

What is your problem? The actors in the Twilight Saga movies are wonderful actors and why I watch the movies over and over and over. These movies could not have been any better than they are. If you don't like good in a movie then don't watch it. If you don't like a author, then don't read the books. But DO quit throwing off on Twilight Saga books and movies - a lot love them including myself and I am no teenager. The actors are so good and I can't picture anyone else that could do any better in these parts!
I agree with Sherry. The books were pretty good, and the movies could have been terrific, but between the screenwriter, terrible acting and having to make the movies "tween" friendly, they're really lacking. Tim Robbins would be the only person I believe could do the stories justice for a movie.

Thanks. My hope is that Stephenie will finish Midnight Sun and sell the movie rights to someone who won't hire Melissa to do the script. LOL :)
i am old and i like the twilight series. is it high art? no. it's good old fashioned entertainment and visually fun to watch.

i have to agree with beth. i hate it that everyone calls it crap if they personally don't like it. and the person that replied with 'oh beth' i'm so glad that you know exactly why she didn't like or liked books. you must be so smart. just because someone likes a book doesn't make it the best book ever. and just because you hate it doesn't make it crap. i couldn't get into reading these books, but i've watched the movies with my daughters and found them enjoyable. lighten up people.

Thank you, I am quite smart.
I wonder if you would have let your daughters watch or read anything having to do with vampires before it became so popular, and I have a right to state my opinion that Twilight is crap. It's the crappiest series ever written, and the movies are even crappier. I believe vampires should be cold, uncaring, and should have flaws. Edward is the flattest character I've ever read about, and he is flawless. And you guys think that Anne Rice's books are boring? At least her characters have depth.
