Expert Weighs In: Did Rose McGowan Get More Plastic Surgery?

Rose McGowan has long been known for both her acting talent and her beauty, but on Wednesday's episode of 'Law & Order: SVU,' the actress showed off a dramatically different look (see photo at far left).

In 2007, McGowan was injured in a car accident that left her with a deep cut on her face, for which she has admitted to undergoing plastic surgery.

"I didn't realize I was hurt until I put my hand to my face and felt the flap of skin. My glasses had sliced me under my eye," she said following the incident.

While the accident and subsequent surgery left her with a barely visible scar beneath her right eye, by the time she was back on the big screen in 'Grindhouse' that same year, her face looked noticeably different, causing many to speculate she had more than just reconstructive work done.

Dr. Jennifer Walden, a Manhattan plastic surgeon who has not treated McGowan, believes that the actress has had a number of procedures since her turn in the Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino-directed double feature that have led to her "done" look.

"The lower lid's pulling down a bit," Walden tells PopEater. "It's a possibility that she had eyelid surgery and is blaming her lower lid drooping on having cut her eye."

During her appearance on 'SVU,' 37-year-old McGowan was virtually unrecognizable, seeming to have dramatically altered her gorgeous face even more since her initial visit to the plastic surgeon's office. Not only did the actress look noticeably slimmer, her face appeared stiff and partially immobile.

"I think she's had soft tissue fillers injected into her face, into her lips, her cheeks, and that has led to a more unnatural look," says Walden, who believes that McGowan's altered facial shape may be the result of jaw line fillers or a chin implant.

In addition, "It looks like in the past she's had her nose done," adds Walden. "The bridge has been narrowed, and the tip looks more refined."

McGowan's overworked face has also led to her appearing older than her 37 years.

"She has a crepey look to her skin, which is a lifestyle thing," says Walden, who suggests that long hours on sets may be prematurely aging the actress. McGowan's seeming penchant for facial fillers isn't helping either. "Being over-injected early on can lead someone to look older than their stated age," warns Walden.

I would not have known that was Rose McGowan if I hadn't seen her name in the credits. She was virtually unrecognizable. What a shame.

gorgeous woman. She looked so good and natural in Charmed and now she looks like a clown. i couldn't stop looking at her stupid lips last night. I'm with you! Oh my goodness I saw the name and I was like where? I did not recognize her at all. I thought she was really pretty before but wow its like she aged overnight.

If you see the SVU episode, you can tell a dramatic difference. I kept saying "is that Rose McGowan" for the first ten minutes of the show. Her face barely moved!

She looks like all the real housewives on all the housewives shows. They all have that "wanna look like a cat" distortion to their faces. Alot of actresses have that look too. I don't get it. They were once beautiful and now they look like mutants! I think that these women need to work on whats on the inside and maybe they would love and accept what is on the outside. So sad for these women. You cannot stop the aging process. It will be a sad world when grandmas don't have character and experience lines in their faces anymore :(

She looks exactly the same to me as when on "Charmed " except she has changed her hair color again. Her face looks just as it always has as far as i can tell and I always watched " Charmed " . Does the writer of this article have nothing better to do than pick at someone and who is the quack they got to talk bad about the way Rose looks because all you have to do is look at the pics they show beside each other and you can that she looks the same and has the same facial expression in both pictures.

Looks the same???? Please!! I watched last night...and still watch the reruns of Charmed...she def looks different!! Her lips looked so funky last night I kept looking for her to say "aflac!!".

I don't think they are picking at her, and I really don't see how you can't notice the difference in her. There were times in Wednesday's show where she had difficulty speaking because she couldn't move her lips correctly. Her face has a swollen look to it, and it's a real shame because she didn't need any improvement.

Looks the same? No way. Her mouth looked different and her nose looked stubbier. Whatever she did has hardened her looks. She was very attractive before, now she looks like she went under the knife big time. Why?

If you actually watched the show last night, the difference was dramatic. I knew who it was but in our house we were wondering if she had done that to her face or if it was done for the role. Whatever the reason it doesn't look good. Go find a clip of the show to see for yourself.

I was thinking the same thing you were. It was hard to watch her because her face looked so stiff. For the part of a beautiful women she was playing, it was hard to think that all the men would fall all over her.

I watched last night and she looked so bad I had to stop watching. She was unable to make any facial expressions at all, all that really moved was around her mouth when she TRIED to smile. She looked like all of the bad plastic surgery cases we see elsewhere and she is only 37! I think her acting career will disappear because she looks so bad. I wouldn't be surprised to at some point see her looking like the "cat lady". Her plastic surgeon should be ashamed.
